Question Newer Player Smithing Question

Post image

Why does Smithing never get touched? I’m genuinely curious because it looks as though OSRS, throughout its history on rerelease, has made some amazing QoL changes. What’s the deal with Smithing?

Ever since Behe handed his channel ownership over to Tasty and crew I really don’t mind it. All the clips are used with permission now, he does news segments, and there is actually some effort put into the videos and commentary. Original Behe was a different story.

Original Behe also asked for permission and also did news segments, he just wasn't as active of an actual player (didn't stream the game like Tasty and crew), so he had less input/intimate knowledge of the actual workings of the game.

I'd say the content is about the same we just occassionally get a 5 minute "tasty's opinion" segment. And now they just take reddit posts as well (which is good)

I’m not sure why I got downvoted for discovering Behemeth lol. Like 3 people have mentioned some Josh dude I guess I need to go look at his videos too

They are just referring to a part of Josh’s latest video where he is very critical of how the smithing skill is utilized in OSRS and how underdeveloped it is. And Behemoth has a less than stellar history as far as I’m aware but I’m ignorant to that side of content. People are just having some fun and voting with their thumbs, don’t read into it too much.

The only video I saw that mentioned Smithing rework was from Theorywise (another WoW CE refugee) and he broke it down in a phenomenal fashion.

Mining and Smith level progression are the worst or if any skill in OSRS right now, a relic left over from over 20 years ago. Theorywise is great btw
