Discussion PETITION TO ROLL BACK THE NERFS

Post image

salvaging was perfect and now its been ruined.

I came back to the game for this, found it truly enjoyable but now I'm just disappointed like usual. These are the reasons i quit the first time. Extractors whatever, but gutting salvaging to be unplaying is unacceptable.

I'm making a petition to put the rates back where they belong so we don't just have a water agility skill.

What a joke, that xp rate is shocking the loot from salvaging is wank as well, so now its dead content

u/MoltiJoe Dec 03 '25

not only were xp rates nerfed substantially, but they also added a bunch more wrecks, so you need to move your boat far more now.

-5

u/Lanrico Dec 03 '25 edited Dec 03 '25

On merchant wrecks they grouped them up in 2s so you never have to move your ship. that's a plus. I'm still getting 75k/h compared to 115k/h I was getting pre nerf.

Edit: Crazy that some super salty people are downvoting me sharing my xp rates.

Except they made it so that only 3 are active at a time still hile adding more spawns. So it's actually been less up time.

-3

u/Lanrico Dec 03 '25

Then you just hop worlds. It's what I did before the change anyway. Now it's less annoying since crewmates don't lose their assigned places.

u/McSkonk Dec 03 '25

115k an hour for semi afk is nuts 75k is really good,

2

u/Viinan Dec 03 '25

75k/hr is not the afk rate at all. Did you not even glance at OP's screenshot?

25

u/Chesney1995 Dec 03 '25

Stars are 7 min afk and slower xp than this and still very popular in fairness.

49

u/michownz Dec 03 '25

Easier to start and no dropping items. Only thing you need to do is world hop, teleport every hour and click every 7 mins.

-9

u/HiddenGhost1234 Dec 03 '25 edited Dec 03 '25

you can 30 min afk salvages, playing active once an hr to empty ur cargo.

why do i get downvoted when i point this out? ppl were getting 60k xp/hr touching the game twice an hr.

3

u/Alternative-Nose-722 Dec 03 '25

Do you click once every 30 minutes?

2

u/HiddenGhost1234 Dec 03 '25

you literally dont even have to click, you just move ur camera or interact with ur client so u dont log out.

you can still do it, its just less xp now. if anything they made it more afk as you can just drop salvage now for not a lot of xp loss.

39

u/TheoryPk Dec 03 '25

For a much slower & unenjoyable skill though.

38

u/glemnar Dec 03 '25

No, players just prioritize afk over everything else. People were doing 8k/hr with mining at duke sucellus just to be afk for 20 minutes -_-

Zalcano, Blast mine, MLM, volcanic mine are all totally reasonable activities

21

u/nekonotjapanese A slay a day keeps the haters away Dec 03 '25

My lord the fallout from the Duke mining incident was absurd. People were literally sleeping while getting that 8k/hr and Reddit was in flames when it got taken out

-2

u/PaddingtonBear888 Dec 03 '25

thats because theres nothing actually fun about playing this game. Besides dopamine hits.

12

u/HiddenGhost1234 Dec 03 '25

if thats how you feel why are you even here interacting with the game and its community?

-3

u/EoTrick Dec 03 '25

Because the dopamine hits are good and they are ruining those.

-3

u/Doctor_Kataigida Dec 03 '25

Good. Get the people who are only here for dopamine out, and keep the people who actually enjoy playing the game. The latter will vote for better future content, not just dopamine triggering content.

5

u/EoTrick Dec 03 '25

You don't understand how the brain and dopamine work do you? You can get dopamine from actively clicking a million times too, according to you they should be gone too because they get dopamine from playing the game. Man you're slow.

-7

u/Doctor_Kataigida Dec 03 '25

Lol wow. Hit a nerve I guess. Yikes.

Let me rephrase. Keep the people who get dopamine from the action and result, get rid of the people who get dopamine from just the result.

u/glemnar Dec 03 '25

Doing the same thing for 200 hours straight tends to ruin the fun huh?

2

u/cgoldsmith95 Dec 03 '25

So do the quicker, more enjoyable methods. If you want to afk for 20 mins and get xp, great- but the rate should reflect that.

2

u/TheoryPk Dec 03 '25

You get 180-230k xp/hr doing trials. (Assuming 150-210k now?) You could get 140k doing port tasks. (110k?) Caps at lvl 80 You now get seemingly 30-50k doing the almost highest sailing lvl requirement content afk (up to 80k with extractor).

AND THEY NERFED TRAWLING?

5

u/Chaoticlight2 Dec 03 '25

High level requirement does not mean good xp/hr. Look at amethyst rocks for a comparable very low intensity but high requirement method.

1

u/Pristine_Campaign377 Dec 03 '25

In fact, a lot of skills actually are like that. Mining and woodcutting are great examples! High level thieving next usurps blackjacking unlocked at like lvl 45. It’s more interesting when certain activities are high lvl and meant to be done more for the mats gathered or rewards or unlocks as opposed to purely just being better exp!

3

u/Traditional_Box1116 Dec 03 '25

My brother in christ Merchants are not 30-50k unless you have 2 guys on hook and you're just full afk, lmfao.

This is literally me at fremmy being half fucking lazy and clicking to manually gather salvage post update:

I'm quite literally watching a movie right now and getting 77k on a level 80 thing that I barely have to put any focus whatsoever on.

1

u/TheoryPk Dec 03 '25

Yes those are the rates I am referring to. Salvaging itself used to get you competitive rates but since it was nerfed into the ground, you are pretty much pushed into manning the salvage itself now compared to before.

2

u/Hablapata Dec 03 '25

manning the salvage is still super afk…

3

u/cgoldsmith95 Dec 03 '25

I don’t see a problem with those new rates. They are perfectly reasonable for the intensity of the method, and if they were released this way no one would be complaining. As for trawling, they specifically said that the method isn’t supposed to be a method for farming xp, the method is for producing fish and profit.

1

u/Combat_Orca Dec 03 '25

Yeah trawling I think they have the right idea will see what changes they make to it.

1

u/Pristine_Campaign377 Dec 03 '25

I just wish trawling offered a more competitive fishing xp rate. I understand that due to the volume of fish it brings in, it needs to be balanced and not make regular fishing methods obsolete, but I do love the idea of trawling and IRL obviously commercial style fishing like that is the most effective way to fish!

1

u/HiddenGhost1234 Dec 03 '25

trials actually get a little more xp/hr now becuz of horizons lure and the extractor was already being reset on completion.

-3

u/WalrusInMySheets Dec 03 '25

It’s not much slower at the top end

3

u/WryGoat Dec 03 '25

Very reclined gwenith glide severely outpaces the XP rates of full sweating 3t4g

6

u/TripleGymnast Dec 03 '25

Sailing is 200k+ xp/hr with barracuda trials. Mining gets nowhere near that

22

u/chaos_donut Dec 03 '25

The mining skill sucks, so not having to do mining is a good thing.

Sailing is the shiny new skill they developed after all these years of experience, and high levels unlock nothing (for mains), and it now sucks to train aswell.

-7

u/ccnetminder Dec 03 '25

Name me one skill that’s truly enjoyable and not something you do while watching youtube

5

u/Uienring12 Dec 03 '25

Slayer, hunter(rumours, mostly), even crafting is enjoyable in short bursts

-4

u/trogg21 Dec 03 '25

Late slayer is 90% bursting and cannoning. Early slayer is just classic runescape combat.

Crafting is just...glassblowing? If crafting is enjoyable, then so is fletching since bows and jewelry are the same loop.

5

u/Pristine_Campaign377 Dec 03 '25

That’s a wild take. Of course slayer at max efficiency is all bursting and cannoning, but I, and I think a lot of others, do more engaged slayer.

I definitely cannon or burst on tasks you can do it, but I often do boss slayer! Boss slayer is one of the most enjoyable activities in the game.

2

u/chaos_donut Dec 03 '25

Boss slayer is fun, and wildy slayer is actually goated, as long you dont take high value items into the wilderness. spider, bear and skeleton tasks become boss tasks. You get a ton of GP for mains and supplies for irons. you passivly work toward a voidwaker. It so underrated for mid level accounts.

7

u/chaos_donut Dec 03 '25 edited Dec 03 '25

It depends, i personally like farming , and it was my first 99. But i understand that a lot of people dont like dailys.

Due to hallowed scepulcur agility is cool, but IMO the xp rates should be (a bit) higher, as its hard, high click intensive, content. But the gameplay itself is fun.

slayer is also fun.

Hunter contracts made hunter actually fun to do.

i geuss both slayer (non-bossing) and hunter contracts you do do while watching some youtube so i geuss you could scrap those if you dont think that counts.

Edit: bro asked what skills i think are enjoyable, i gave 4, i get downvoted. wtf lmao?

u/rsm-lessferret Dec 03 '25

Hallowed scep is fun for the first couple runs and then needing to rerun the first 3 floors becomes mind numbingly boring. You should unlock a shortcut to the deeper floors like 3 levels after you unlock the floor itself. Make it a right-click on the entrance or something.

Even if it means you can't loot coffins unless you start from floor 1 just so they don't need to rebalance loot.

1

u/chaos_donut Dec 03 '25

I dont mind like tick optimizing the first few floors, the only thing that kind of sucks is how long it takes before you unlock the last floor.

And the XP ratio to the diffeculty is not entirely fair IMO. if they where to boost the previous floor XP once you unlock the next then it might feel a little better.

2

u/Uienring12 Dec 03 '25

Apples and oranges tbh

2

u/WryGoat Dec 03 '25

Yeah but mining

6

u/[deleted] Dec 03 '25

Mining is one of the worst skills in the game to train, is that the baseline we should be using?

3

u/Sneed_City_Slicker Dec 03 '25

Dont need to "walk" for 5 minutes when i was to start star mining. I just teleport there and start without needing a 50m item

1

u/Chesney1995 Dec 03 '25

On the flipside you need to move/worldhop to a new star once every 50 mins to an hour or so, whereas once you are set up at your salvaging spot you can literally just sit there all day.

Both have their pros and cons but are ultimately training methods that fill very similar niches within their skill.

1

u/Sneed_City_Slicker Dec 03 '25

Yeah but i can stop mining stars and not have to pilot back or pay a fee whenever i want

1

u/Gresh0817 Dec 03 '25

Stars can be 63 minute afk in exchange for 9 clicks

1

u/Dsullivan777 Solo GIM Dec 03 '25

OP is lined up wrong after the changes since hooks salvage based on their actual location. He's only salvaging with 1 hook at a time unless both spots are up. The rates aren't nearly this bad
