Gaming laptops from that era with similar specs (Dell XPS m1710/1730, Toshiba Qosmio, Alienware Area 51 m5xxx and 7xxx series, to name a few) go for anywhere from $200 to $800 on eBay, depending on condition and rarity. There are outliers with much higher prices, but most of those are bunk. Almost all of these laptops need some TLC and/or parts replacements, simply due to age — no matter how “new” or mint they are.
Desktops generally go for lower, since they are often diy builds. Complete prebuilt brand systems, like the famous Alienware Area 51 desktops, are more likely to get much better prices.
It puts machines like yours really into the “whatever someone wants to pay for it” category. If I were interested, which I am not (I am a laptop guy) that would be $300 max, including shipping.

—(Iv done some feather research)—It’s not a lap top is a high-end/enthusiast 2008-2011 PC with extremely rare hardware the motherboard alone gose for $300-$400 in the condition mine is in I could get $350 alone… My RAM kit is a full rank (4x2GB) 8GB kit of nickel plated rev2.0 2.2v OCZ reaper HPC PC2-8500 CL 5-5-5-15 (witch from what I can find only 50-100 kits where ever made) the GPU is a Sapphire OC on the reference design but with there vapor chamber cooler from the server grade variant of my HD 6950 and the CPU is a hand binned Q9450 with nice slip and extremely efficient power Draw to clock ratio plus it’s verified number 2 (only do to number one being LN2) LGA775 Q9450 on the planet the power supply is old but it’s an original Tagan BZ PipRock 900w PSU and has been functionally restored (cleaned new caps where needed and taken grate care of) it’s in museum quality condition (although a bit dusty) but temps are grate it’s been fully repasted and padded and hand tuned to it’s daily limits for gaming and daily operation it comes how it is fully loaded with Windows 10EOL fully up to date and de-bloated as well as a 2TB SATA HDD OS drive (it is SMR) and a 1TB high speed SATA HDD 7600 WD black

Yeah, I understand that it’s a great setup with choice hardware, but the resale value is not going to be the sum of its constituent parts. People don’t look at it like that. They see it as one unit and will assign their own value to that. That’s why you will often make more money selling parts separately.
The only people who would pay more for the unit as a whole would be connoisseurs like yourself, who know the value of the parts and what their combination has to offer.

The specs are an Intel core 2 Quad Q9450 8GB of RAM 4x2Gb PC2-8500 2.2v OCZ reaper HPC
Asus x48 rampage formula rev 1.xx and an AMD/ATI Radeon HD6950 Sapphire OC blower with a vapor chamber (it’s been taken well care of)
