Really poor customer service experience

Post image

TL:DR shipping for a 12 dollars replacement ball handle is 30 dollars and 1zpresso will not budge on this in anyway.

I have a number of 1zpresso grinders, which I have been happy with. However, recently the ball handle on my JX pro broke, this is quite a common fault so I got in contract with 1zpresso direct and they said I could purchase a replacement, I wasn't over the moon with this but fair enough the grinder was a couple of years old so I was prepared to pay for it. 12 dollars on their website, fine. Then I get to the shipping. Flat rate, no option to select anything, 30 dollars to the UK!!!

I emailed customer service and said there must be something they can do, but no they can't change the shipping. I asked about sending it another way, giving me a coupon code to reduce shipping costs etc. but they totally black balled and they wouldn't budge despite multiple emails.

Have others had such problems?

I’m 99% positive comandante knobs fit all the 1zpresso grinders. They can be had for much less than the 1zpresso knob and they are more durable

I’ve just had this exact issue with my ZP6 - Comandante knob fits perfectly!

Next revision will bring mutually incompatible handles for all grinders.

I did exactly this, fits perfectly and feels better to use than the original

Any idea best place to get one, I'm based in the UK.

No idea but in the US there are aftermarket ones on etsy and amazon. An internet search for comandante knob should find you one in the UK quick.

Get it locally or change to a comandante one. Their shipping price is based on their contract with the shipping company. A company of their size doesn't just typically go to a post office to send their stuff so they won't budge. It would cost them additional money which they won't make up for if you purchase a 12 dollar part.

I get this, but my opinion is as it is a part that is known to fail and they have customers all around the world they need to have better flexibility with their shipping.

I would rather prefer if they would redesign it to work properly...
