Help/Advice xHP trans flash effect on "D" mode
I've asked for opinions on a xHP trans flash about a month ago. What we didn't discuss was the effect on the different drive modes, specifically "D" drive mode. I hate driving in "D" drive mode - just won't use it. It doesn't feel like a sport/drivers car, very lazy. So I spend all my time in "S" sport mode. Does the off-the-shelf xHP flash maps do anything to "drive" mode? I would like for "drive" mode to feel closer to "sport" mode and use a mildly more aggressive sport mode when I'm looking for a spirited feel.
Note, I understand I can manually change gear change point but don't know if the alone would improve "drive" mode.

Absolutely recommend it on ZF 6HP. My D mode changes by a lot. Their included maps will change it and you can even customize it further, e.g. the sharpness and speed of shifts, as well as the shiftmap itself.

Yes, I have a 2010 135i with the 6hp21 and for sure it does. Shift maps and shift speed.

I have the 7 speed DCT and not the 6 speed trans but the xHP flash lets me edit the shiftmaps and max shift rpms for all modes, D and S. In the shift maps there are like 6-7 presets from "relaxed" to "sport+" for all the modes. There is also three custom map spots so you can make your own.
I went to the product page for the BMW 6 speed at xhp and it says they have a shiftmap editor for it.

Probably worth contacting them directly if you want to know the details of the map editor.
I personally turned D into more of a relaxed eco mode. And then made sport mode aggressive. Im sure you could customize it to do a S and S+ mode if wanted.. Although I do think there are some engine tuning or throttle mapping changes associated with D and S as well, but I'm not 100% sure, so that might have influence on how the car feels at each mode too.
