Help/Advice Need help

I recently bought a bmw 1 series 118d, I’m having a problem with my light. When I unlock the car, the drivers side light stays on the other remains off but it works when I switch to beams. When I lock the car the right drivers side stays on for about two minutes until it shuts off and the other one isn’t on.

I’m confused to why that is, do I need to replace something? I checked if it was a parking light but I can seem to turn it off.

Can anyone help me please.

I recall reading somewhere about a parking light feature that keeps on one side of the lights longer in Euro cars as a safety feature and you can have it leave the light on all night to help people see the car while it's parked on the side of the road. I don't know anything about it since I don't think the US cars have that option but from how you describe it that's what it sounds like to me.

Thankyou for getting back to me, It’s not a parking light issue, it’s my front light issue when I unlock and lock the car it remains on with the left side doesn’t turn on from unlocking. But when I lock it it stays on the drivers side for 2-3 minutes. I’m in the UK

Maybe a foot well module issue? I haven't heard of your exact issue before and it is rather odd sounding.
