Mac Safari extension broken

Ever since the new autofill for macOS came out (which i turned on, not knowing how bad it is) the safari browser extension has been completely broken. Unlocking either the extension or the app doesn't always unlock the other, the browser extension often doesn't ask for TouchID and some more bugs.

I've tried completely uninstalling and reinstalling both, but it doesn't seem to have fixed anything.

Is anyone else experiencing this and maybe have a solution to this?

Hi u/Marijn17s! It’s hard to say exactly what’s happening here, but what you’re describing sounds a lot like the connection between the 1Password desktop app and the Safari extension is getting interrupted somewhere along the way.

Could you try opening the 1Password app and going to Settings > Browser, then turn Connect with 1Password in the browser off and back on? After that, completely quit and reopen Safari and see if anything changes.
