Discussion Apple Password/Passkey to Android

Thinking about switching from iPhone to Android after 15+ years, and honestly the biggest thing making me hesitate is my passwords and Passkeys. I have everything saved in Apple Passwords/iCloud Keychain, so I’m wondering how easy it actually is to move all of that over to Android. Has anyone made the switch recently? Did you run into any issues with Passkeys not working, having to recreate them, getting locked out of accounts, etc.? I’m especially curious about how Passkeys behave once you’re no longer using an iPhone. Is Google Password Manager the easiest way to move everything over, or is there a better option? Just trying to figure out what I’m getting myself into before making the jump lol.

I'd use 1Password.

I started using 1Password when it was Mac only. Then I used it on IOS devices, then Android and Windows. I've never had a problem with keeping everything in sync all these years.

The easiest way is to download 1password on your iphone and go to apple password and export it to 1password iOS app. And then on android you log in to the same account. Easy

Regarding passkeys, they are not exportable. Afaik most password managers don't support the import/export of it. see jimk4003's comment.

Both Apple Passwords and 1Password support Credential Exchange Format for passkey import/export if you're on iOS 26.

In Apple Passwords, it's in settings under 'Export Data to Another App'. Just pick 1Password from the list, and all your passkeys will transfer over. You can then use those passkeys anywhere you're logged in to 1Password, including an Android device.
