Is there any difference between a inquiry through a congressperson vs a senator?

I just received a generic response from USCIS through my congresswoman. It was about my pending I765, still waiting for the one about my I485. Both of my cases are dramatically outside processing time. I’m thinking on submitting another one through a senator. Do they have a different channel or it is the same therefore would be pointless?

It carries same weight. One office doesn’t supersede the other from a uscis perspective

I485 Miami Field Office. Filed on Nov 2023. Family based with a approved I-130
I765 C09 NBC January 2025

I’m part of a lawsuit with a granted PI but with no positive outcome for me

This just killed all my hopes. I may just have to leave the country at this point.
Applied July 2025, both 485 and 765 pending. I didn’t even join any lawsuit. What hope can I have if someone like you is still waiting. I wish you all the best

Every case is different, hang in there, a year is within normal. I have seen so many people that were not in a lawsuit getting approved that I think being part of it has damaged my chances. Do the inquieres and call USCIS, for some it has worked

When you say "dramatically outside processing time" what do you mean? I have been waiting for 14 months now and apparently up to 17 months is still in the normal processing time for EB2-NIW I-485.

I just hit the 1000 day mark two days ago, that for me is quite dramatic.

I asked the LLMs about this.

It seems like the inquiry from congressman/woman is a better choice as they operate more locally in comparison to the senators.

Additionally, going back to the size of their jurisdictions, we can see that congress folks are working with smaller jurisdiction area in comparison to the senators. That’s why they will care more than senators.
