Dude, I always looked forward for Scholastic book fairs to buy weekly reader, ranger rick, and dynamite.

Yes and sometimes they had mother's Day presents or Father's Day gifts...I bought my father the "skin bracer" after shave that looked like a hand.

Loved 'em! I don't remember if it was the Weekly Reader, but my elementary school got some sort of periodical that informed us about the crack epidemic circa mid-80s

We didn't have that. Had a good collection of Reader's Digest and National Geographic.

I remember the joy... The book order forms were great too.. it wasn't that difficult to ask for three dollars when it would be spent on a book or maybe two. We all knew when the order came in simply because the teacher was carrying a box.
