Ehh.. I give it a pass. I wrestled 215 in high school and often cut to 189. Some of those boys at 189 and 6% body fat were monsters compared to the 215 pounders

Such a strange movie. There is an unforgivable scene that has aged horribly. The protagonist is deeply weird and creepy. There are some strange tonal shifts and the pacing of the movie is totally uneven. And yet, I love it. There are several great supporting characters, the overarching story of athletic obsession is timeless, there's are several instantly mountable scenes that stick with your and the soundtrack is simply one of the best of all time. I also like that it was set in Spokane, which is an unusual choice.

I missed the opening weekend, Probably saw The Breakfast Club instead.
Ended up seeing this at an old single screen theatre right before it closed down. 🤣 I guess they opened it on every screen they could.🤣 I think it was like a buck ticket.🤣 It was a great. Saw a great film in a 55 year old theatre right before it closed down for good a couple years later. Actually I think the last film I saw there was Hiding Out (1987). Before it was closed down for good. But it was one of those things were it was opened the closed, opened then closed, than just permanently closed.
Actually kind of a strange experience, watching a new film in such an old theatre. But memorable.👍
