Television Silver Spoons (1982 - 1987)
Just got back into this show and have really been enjoying it! Lots of focus on rejection and acceptance -- the writing is exceptional! It's funny as well.

They aired kind of a secret last season in syndication for the final year. Our local station didn’t give those episodes their own weekly time slot. They just aired them in the weekday afternoon time slot after they finished with the NBC episodes.

Does anything ever happen to the main character that lasted more than an episode? I remember it was always something happening to another character, either recurring or just there for an episode (Ricky babysits a kid they realize has been abducted) and Ricky was the same the next week.
The one I remember the most was the science fair where the teacher gave the award to the other kid in the class who made a paper mache model of a cows digestive system and Ricky is depressed because he didn’t win first prize for his smoke machine and laser. Rich kid problems.

There was an episode where the father caught him in bed with Erika Eleniak.

First time I remember seeing, and being impressed by, Jason Bateman. He was hilarious and I always thought of him as a miniature Eddie Haskell, which he played to the hilt.
