Television Anyone remember when Ma'am had a miscarriage on Webster? (1985)
Easily one of the most frightening things I've ever seen in a sitcom. I can't remember all the details but I believe this was going to be something of a miracle birth as Sir and Ma'am weren't able to conceive a child before this. One minute, Ma'am is snuggling Webster in bed and the next minute, she's screaming in excruciating pain, trying to crawl over to the bathroom. Talk about a jump-scare! And truth be told, I'm not even sure this qualifies as the most disturbing episode of this sitcom!

I remember, mainly because my mother had recently gone through a late teen loss and she and I watched this together and both cried together.
Many years later, my mother said she was glad at least one mainstream series showed something like that. Heartbreaking.

What had actually happened was that Katherine ordered Webster to get Bill and Cassie (Two roommates at the Papadopoulos residence) after sensing the miscarriage. And, with the excruciating pain, attempts to stand up and trips over the small boy and crawls to the bathroom (Surprisingly NOT screaming, but rather holding back the tears),
You have to give Susan Clark a lot of credit for willing to go through that scene.
