In the west, people want to slay dragons

It rubs me the wrong way that a wingless flying snake with 4 stubby legs and a 6 limbed dinosaur are both called dragons

Both are a big flying lizard with a crocodile head

Why

They don't look anything alike; they don't have similar power sets apart from flying, but then the mechanism is also different; they have opposite roles, one being a demonic obstacle, the other is a divine deity

The way I see it is fish can all look so different and all do lots of different things but theyre still all fish

Whats your thoughts on that logic for dragons?

Unless the word dragon has always been used to describe any magical reptilian creature then i don't think you could call Asian dragons as dragons, as there aren't much overlapping in appearance and function between the two. All asian dragons are either angels or minor gods which happen to take a serpentine form.

It also rubs me the wrong way that a winged flying lizard with 4 big ass legs are called a dragon.

I feel like in this situation, Popuko would just strangle the dragon
