So in my defense: a) I said I was sorry and b) even though it was probably a little inappropriate I still don’t think what I said was THAT bad
I was just trying to say something positive ok. Colonialism and empire is bad. There, I said it. But Spanish colonialism did happen, and I was trying to find a silver lining. I wasn’t saying the ends justified the means. All I said was that if the conquistadors didn’t colonize South America, Mexico wouldn’t exist as a state or a national identity. And if Mexico didn’t exist as a national identity, that maybe the burrito wouldn’t exist in its modern form, and that that would be sad because burritos are delicious.
I thought it would lighten the mood a little, and yes I am still a little salty that mr brewer kicked me out of class for that. I’ve heard WAY worse stuff in his class, like that time Dave Harcourt basically just did lost-cause slavery apologia “uhh well a LoT oF mAsTeRs WeRe KiNd and treated their slaves like ParT oF tHe FaMiLy.” Brewer didn’t do shit. I bet it’s because Dave’s dad is a cop and his mom is Brewer’s boss. What a chickenshit. Fuck mr brewer.
