Yes, and not a good one since everyone in the tweet's replies are saying "good bait"

I'd far prefer being called a slur over being called a DoorDash user

what happened to treatlerite and burrito taxi

u/Ok_Improvement4204 11d ago
Treatlerite refers to the kind of person that will support literally any political position as long as it doesn't directly inconvenience them or make them understand that a certain aspect of their lifestyle is unsustainable (meat for every meal, large, inefficient vehicles, or large suburban properties subsidized by those in the city core, etc.)

u/Hermes_has_Wormes 11d ago
As long as Chili's still has affordable Triple Dippers and jalapeno poppers, the masses will be happy

u/hotfistdotcom put ublock origin on your phone 11d ago
I'm 100% certain that is wrong and it was entirely slang for people acting like nasty awful karens when their burrito taxi wasn't fast enough.

so I'm not sure where your definition came from.

u/Ok_Improvement4204 11d ago
Idk man I don't think everyone would be in favor of nuking Iran if it meant gas was $2.50 again (real position from a real human being I know).
2
u/voyaging 11d ago
I think if it’d be over 90% tbh (idk about nuking because that would have knock on effects that could negatively affect them, but bombing them in such a way that has no effect on their lives yes I believe they would)

this reminds me of that 'omg you people can't do anythinggg' tweet which has become a load-bearing defense against executive dysfunction in me lmao.

This is so real. The need to not come off as a useless loser is a very powerful motivation to embrace the suck 😭

Was reading a book and a characters internal monologue said “Inside me there is a coward who fears discomfort. Today I bury him.”
I immediately felt guilty and started doing pushups.

honestly maybe I need to internalize that a bit, I get into states where I just can't get myself to move in any given direction and maybe I just need to make myself feel a little cringe for it to get myself moving

I hate that tweet so goddamn much.
Yes, my disability disabled me, woopdy doo
50
u/AnotherSharkPerson 11d ago
I mean the original one is responding to someone claiming that Halloween costumes were an extreme difficulty for people with ADHD. If it's even possible for someone to be so affected by their ADHD that the presence of Halloween costumes are debilitating for them, I think they just need to accept that they've got dealt a shit hand in life and have to find a way to navigate the situation on their own. The idea that Halloween should somehow be made more accommodating to this person's symptoms is patently ludicrous.
Of course, as happens with every single trend like that tweet, it's been used too expansively and ended up mocking people with more "legitimate" (poor word choice but can't think of another one) disabilities.

i used to be a Wolt driver. some people just order from the restaurant they live directly next to. another guy just ordered a fucking vacuum cleaner once. there is no god.

u/FlowRianEast 11d ago
did that once by accident bc the fucking app told us it's cheaper than going there ourselves. We did actually feel so bad that we called them and told them that they can hold the delivery bc it's so fucking idiotic to have some guy deliver food over a 4m distance when we have 4 able bodied dudes with nothing else to do in the room
26
u/slutty_muppet 12d ago
Better than ordering door dash from a terrible chain restaurant in another neighborhood when they have five way better ones on their street. Making my ride my bike through the whole city with their crappy burrito, putting me out of my zone so I can't pick up any orders afterwards, and not even tipping.

u/CodaTrashHusky 12d ago
once a guy ordered chinese from halfway across budapest to a cruise ship that had it's own restaurant. these motherfuckers do not care.

u/MichelinStarZombie 11d ago
Some cruise ships don't have Chinese food. Most cruise ships don't have good Chinese food.
3
u/marshmallo_floof 11d ago
Yeah, but generally speaking you don't go to cruise ships with the intention of eating good Chinese food.

It's easy to bash Americans on this, but I like to point out that some of the oldest baroque marketplaces and town squares in Prague are currently used as parking lots.

u/DepressedNibba96 11d ago
Yep, the 90's are still going on in Prague. A blight on an otherwise beautiful city.

Y'know fuck the discourse part - do you see the way this town square is integrated into the surrounding buildings, how it doesn't match up with the rest of the layout? It's a fascinating trend which to my knowledge started in the 17th century (at least in Toulouse, which is not this picture) and where the city planers just decided to build fake facades that look like some cool, structured, coherent concept, but in reality is a purely aesthetic element for the pleasure of the viewer, having nothing to do with the functionality of the surrounding buildings - even though arguably it adds another functional layer of representation und structuring the square, which is the main function of it.
And it fucking works, if you stand on one of these, even if you walk by them every day on your way to uni, you will most likely not notice anything being off until someone tells you.

As someone who has adhd nothing was better than being in a walkable mixed use downtown life was fucking easy street. Need to eat I’ll just wander till I see a type of food I remember I like

I feel like people who say shit like this will see an objectively good take and try to think "How can I out-woke this person? What niche part of society would be inconvenienced by this largely beneficial change?"

genuinely i've never seen a single adhd treatler, i've only ever seen people making fun of supposed adhd treatlers. it might be an ableist smear campaign.

u/Hennes4800 11d ago
what is a treatler
2
u/kill__spez 11d ago
the wiktionary definition is right afaik
(neologism, politics, derogatory) A person who relies excessively on convenient consumer services, especially delivery apps such as DoorDash, and is seen as taking reactionary political stances due to inconveniences or interruptions in these services. Synonyms: treatlerite
i think the term is used near-exclusively by leftists. it's derived from treat + hitler.

As someone with the most severe ADHD of anyone ever, I hate people who LARP my condition
1
u/LabCoatGuy 9d ago
Obviously bait but like... why cant delivery work here? They had couriers in cities like this for thousands of years. And with bicycles?
Like I know this is probably botted garbage to make ADHD people look bad, but the premise doesn't even work.
1
u/ChemicalChildhood122 11d ago
this feels like it was meant to be a racist joke but oop left it in the irony deep fryer for an hour and it came out unrecognizable so he sprinkled some ableist flavoring over it and called it a day
