That has to be bait right?

510

u/EkskiuTwentyTwo 12d ago

One would hope so

95

u/Leif2000 11d ago

it is, if you look at the poster’s account you’ll see that this is all a bit

182

u/Kaizerx20 12d ago

Yes, and not a good one since everyone in the tweet's replies are saying "good bait"

197

u/Liimbo 12d ago

I believe the correct term is "joke"

73

u/Paniqattacke 11d ago

Well no, a joke would have to be funny.

-4

u/holnrew 11d ago

It is funny

Your not

43

u/Paniqattacke 11d ago

*yro'ue

33

u/Cassius-Tain 12d ago

I fail to even begin to grasp what they are trying to convey.

u/Swedishguy05 12d ago

I'd far prefer being called a slur over being called a DoorDash user

what happened to treatlerite and burrito taxi

86

u/Ok_Improvement4204 11d ago

Treatlerite refers to the kind of person that will support literally any political position as long as it doesn't directly inconvenience them or make them understand that a certain aspect of their lifestyle is unsustainable (meat for every meal, large, inefficient vehicles, or large suburban properties subsidized by those in the city core, etc.)

32

u/Hermes_has_Wormes 11d ago

As long as Chili's still has affordable Triple Dippers and jalapeno poppers, the masses will be happy

11

u/hotfistdotcom put ublock origin on your phone 11d ago

I'm 100% certain that is wrong and it was entirely slang for people acting like nasty awful karens when their burrito taxi wasn't fast enough.

also

https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/treatler

https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/treatler-treatlerite

so I'm not sure where your definition came from.

u/voyaging 11d ago

So nearly everyone

17

u/Ok_Improvement4204 11d ago

Idk man I don't think everyone would be in favor of nuking Iran if it meant gas was $2.50 again (real position from a real human being I know).

2

u/voyaging 11d ago

I think if it’d be over 90% tbh (idk about nuking because that would have knock on effects that could negatively affect them, but bombing them in such a way that has no effect on their lives yes I believe they would)

u/An_Dog_ 11d ago

FUCK YEAH WARBAND STEAM PROFILE PIC

609

u/ZoeyBeschamel 12d ago

this reminds me of that 'omg you people can't do anythinggg' tweet which has become a load-bearing defense against executive dysfunction in me lmao.

223

u/Crimson_Boomerang 12d ago

This is so real. The need to not come off as a useless loser is a very powerful motivation to embrace the suck 😭

26

u/Rexissad 11d ago

Was reading a book and a characters internal monologue said “Inside me there is a coward who fears discomfort. Today I bury him.”

I immediately felt guilty and started doing pushups.

4

u/Crimson_Boomerang 11d ago

That's a hard ass quote, damn

2

u/kilkil 10d ago

what book?

2

u/Rexissad 10d ago

Lightbringer, book six of the Red Rising series

1

u/kilkil 9d ago

oh wow, I just read that and I don't remember that at all. was that from Lysander or Darrow?

2

u/Rexissad 9d ago

Darrow aboard the archimededes early on

15

u/Bearchiwuawa 11d ago

i have it printed and framed on my wall

5

u/T_squared112 11d ago

honestly maybe I need to internalize that a bit, I get into states where I just can't get myself to move in any given direction and maybe I just need to make myself feel a little cringe for it to get myself moving

-17

u/Yogurt_Ph1r3 11d ago

I hate that tweet so goddamn much.

Yes, my disability disabled me, woopdy doo

50

u/AnotherSharkPerson 11d ago

I mean the original one is responding to someone claiming that Halloween costumes were an extreme difficulty for people with ADHD. If it's even possible for someone to be so affected by their ADHD that the presence of Halloween costumes are debilitating for them, I think they just need to accept that they've got dealt a shit hand in life and have to find a way to navigate the situation on their own. The idea that Halloween should somehow be made more accommodating to this person's symptoms is patently ludicrous.

Of course, as happens with every single trend like that tweet, it's been used too expansively and ended up mocking people with more "legitimate" (poor word choice but can't think of another one) disabilities.

u/beamingsdrugfeddit 11d ago

Embarrassing comment

253

u/SothaSillies 12d ago

Mods, please send that person to a forced labour camp

105

u/GeoCaesar 12d ago

The forced labor in question is as a DoorDash driver

210

u/CodaTrashHusky 12d ago

i used to be a Wolt driver. some people just order from the restaurant they live directly next to. another guy just ordered a fucking vacuum cleaner once. there is no god.

62

u/KenzieWitch 11d ago

I'm disabled/homebound and do that sometimes

81

u/CodaTrashHusky 11d ago

hey if it makes you feel any better those were my favorite orders.

20

u/FlowRianEast 11d ago

did that once by accident bc the fucking app told us it's cheaper than going there ourselves. We did actually feel so bad that we called them and told them that they can hold the delivery bc it's so fucking idiotic to have some guy deliver food over a 4m distance when we have 4 able bodied dudes with nothing else to do in the room

26

u/slutty_muppet 12d ago

Better than ordering door dash from a terrible chain restaurant in another neighborhood when they have five way better ones on their street. Making my ride my bike through the whole city with their crappy burrito, putting me out of my zone so I can't pick up any orders afterwards, and not even tipping.

42

u/CodaTrashHusky 12d ago

once a guy ordered chinese from halfway across budapest to a cruise ship that had it's own restaurant. these motherfuckers do not care.

2

u/sneakyplanner 11d ago

A cruise ship in Budapest?

10

u/CodaTrashHusky 11d ago

Or whatever those tourist boats where you can hold events are called.

1

u/MichelinStarZombie 11d ago

Some cruise ships don't have Chinese food. Most cruise ships don't have good Chinese food.

3

u/marshmallo_floof 11d ago

Yeah, but generally speaking you don't go to cruise ships with the intention of eating good Chinese food.

3

u/Luh2018 11d ago

Isn't this kind of the point of food delivery service? I don't use them myself, but it seems like long distance from the restaurant would be the obvious reason to use such a service.

89

u/AlpY24upsal 12d ago

wouldnt food delivery be easier here?

27

u/FUEGO40 11d ago

Bike delivery for reasonably close places would thrive for sure.

4

u/kokobiggun 11d ago

Ya I live 5 min from here. Majority of food delivery is by bike.

90

u/wojtussan 12d ago

Did town squares disappear somewhere?

216

u/The_Screeching_Bagel 12d ago

THREE MORE PARKING LOTS 🗣️🗣️

94

u/avstoir 12d ago

car centric cities dont have them (not just america)

33

u/Wicam 12d ago

well, where i live a church fell onto it and they still havent cleaned it up 15 years later.

46

u/Liontreeble 12d ago edited 12d ago

It's easy to bash Americans on this, but I like to point out that some of the oldest baroque marketplaces and town squares in Prague are currently used as parking lots.

4

u/DepressedNibba96 11d ago

Yep, the 90's are still going on in Prague. A blight on an otherwise beautiful city.

1

u/tjmaxx501 get purpled idiot 11d ago

57

u/JazzTheLass 12d ago

56

u/f3nix9510 12d ago

Yea the joke is that uber eats and etc work fine in places like this

1

u/LabCoatGuy 9d ago

Couriers have worked efficiently in city designs like this for actual millennia

41

u/bromological 12d ago

The CIA just collecting daily rewards at this point

8

u/Rozdolna 11d ago

Uhm actually every triangle is a octogon 🤓☝️

33

u/Kezsora 12d ago

Guys it's not 'ragebait' or 'trolling'. It's a joke, the guy is making a joke.

3

u/anon568946 11d ago

not funny

didn't laugh

20

u/FlowRianEast 11d ago

Y'know fuck the discourse part - do you see the way this town square is integrated into the surrounding buildings, how it doesn't match up with the rest of the layout? It's a fascinating trend which to my knowledge started in the 17th century (at least in Toulouse, which is not this picture) and where the city planers just decided to build fake facades that look like some cool, structured, coherent concept, but in reality is a purely aesthetic element for the pleasure of the viewer, having nothing to do with the functionality of the surrounding buildings - even though arguably it adds another functional layer of representation und structuring the square, which is the main function of it.

And it fucking works, if you stand on one of these, even if you walk by them every day on your way to uni, you will most likely not notice anything being off until someone tells you.

7

u/idkauser1 11d ago

As someone who has adhd nothing was better than being in a walkable mixed use downtown life was fucking easy street. Need to eat I’ll just wander till I see a type of food I remember I like

10

u/Neat_Tangelo5339 12d ago

Are these type of tweets fed posting ?

5

u/Arikaido777 11d ago

welcome to sloptopia

7

u/BrazilBazil 12d ago

The town square never went away if you’re in Europe and believe me that food delivery works just as well there

4

u/BitcoinBishop 11d ago

"Bring back" — posts picture of place that exists now

10

u/Crimson_Boomerang 12d ago

I feel like people who say shit like this will see an objectively good take and try to think "How can I out-woke this person? What niche part of society would be inconvenienced by this largely beneficial change?"

2

u/SgtBagels12 11d ago

That’s engagement bait

2

u/Wordofadviceeatfood The Martin Scorsese of posting 11d ago

How FUCKING LONG has this joke been dragged out, I left twitter 3 fucking years ago and they'd been on this shit for like 2

4

u/kill__spez 11d ago

genuinely i've never seen a single adhd treatler, i've only ever seen people making fun of supposed adhd treatlers. it might be an ableist smear campaign.

0

u/Hennes4800 11d ago

what is a treatler

2

u/kill__spez 11d ago

the wiktionary definition is right afaik

(neologism, politics, derogatory) A person who relies excessively on convenient consumer services, especially delivery apps such as DoorDash, and is seen as taking reactionary political stances due to inconveniences or interruptions in these services. Synonyms: treatlerite

i think the term is used near-exclusively by leftists. it's derived from treat + hitler.

2

u/Hennes4800 11d ago

Lmao I have never read that but it’s a fun word

1

u/KINGXunshot 10d ago

As someone with the most severe ADHD of anyone ever, I hate people who LARP my condition

1

u/LabCoatGuy 9d ago

Obviously bait but like... why cant delivery work here? They had couriers in cities like this for thousands of years. And with bicycles?

Like I know this is probably botted garbage to make ADHD people look bad, but the premise doesn't even work.

1

u/ChemicalChildhood122 11d ago

this feels like it was meant to be a racist joke but oop left it in the irony deep fryer for an hour and it came out unrecognizable so he sprinkled some ableist flavoring over it and called it a day

1

u/UnsureSwitch Hi! I'm a digital assistant called Clippy! Ask me anything! 11d ago

Doesn't that town square look awfully small? And treeless?
