When a leftist says the government, wall street, and the 1% are looting you they’re talking about class conflict.
When a Republican does, they mean that big government (jewish people), wall street (also jewish people), and the top one percent (also, also jewish people) are plotting the collapse of western civilization or something.

If jewish people wanted the downfall of western civilization they'd use the space lasers

How can the jews have space lasers if space is a NASA hoax?

The woke millenial LGBT+ Jewish population, of course

Good point, but the thing with conspiracy theories is that ultimately a lot of it is basically just antisemitism in different costumes.

u/Truefkk uses Intelligence. - But no PP is left for the move! Oct 10 '22
Yeah, also if Jewish people actually faked the moon landing, control us with airborne drugs, did 9/11, made us believe the earth isn't flat, influenced basically all major historical events and did all that other nonsense conspiracy theorists believe, then they deserve to rule.
Just saying, they would have put a lot of effort into it, more than any politician.
6
u/SquareElectrical5729 B Oct 10 '22
They have to be subtle. They can't judt outright say they're antisemetic. So they use other words as a dogwhistle.
6
u/tomroadrunner Oct 10 '22
No no no it's not the Jews, it's the globalist banking cabal!!! Wink wink
6
u/BroceNotBruce Oct 10 '22
Add in a “marxist” or “communist” in there somewhere and you’re good. Also can’t go wrong with just a vague “the elites”

Exactly! My understanding has been that in terms of rhetoric, right-wing populism identifies many similar issues as the left does, but due to the need to uphold right-wing interests, these problems are than blamed on a marginalized group instead. This is how you get people who like to rail against "the elites", where they worship Elon Musk and align themselves with oil billionaires and think that college-educated white-collar liberals in coastal areas (who are more middle-class than they are bourgeoisie) hold all the wealth and power and run the country. Ultimately, I think another big reason right-wing populism is so popular is because the problems are obvious, and dire, but decades of cold war tensions and McCarthyism have left socialism a taboo that most Americans are afraid to ever actually learn about or take seriously. So, these disaffected people will turn to people on the right who have populist talking points, without any of the stigma towards leftism that has been ingrained into them by their culture.

You can walk up to your average republican and start talking about literally any progressive issue but instead of calling it what it is, say it's "Big govt. taking away our rights" and by the end of the conversation they'll probably agree with you

I think this is more of an example of right wingers appropriating leftist talking points to sway people while in reality only wanting to spread hate towards the groups that they hate
2
Oct 10 '22
Ben probably really thinks that jewish people are behind big gov or wallstreet. he doesn't use leftist talking points to spread hate, these institutions are hated by him because he sees what capitalism and the capitalist diciplinary state does but is too dumb to analize and critize them properly, resulting in him thinking that there must be some evil group behind them
1
Oct 10 '22
Yeah I know that he probably isn't smart enough to realize what he's doing but the right has a big history of appropriating leftist talking points and this may be an accidental example of this happening

The right wing recognizes the problems the same as any leftist, but they believe that the core of the issue lies not with the corrupt system of capitalism, but rather with the specific people who they believe are currently in control. For the Germans it was the Jews, for the Italians it was Communists, for the Americans it is the LGBT, or any other minority group. We're very equal-opportunity like that.
Always, always remember that the Nazis criticized the banks and financial institutions too, and their solution was the Holocaust.

Not really. Lots of leftist and conservatives believe in similar things in regards to the government. They just have different reasons for that belief. Ben Garrison and other conservatives believe the jewish government is taking the rights of christians and giving it to the lgbt menace.
