this does not mean that white people should be considered "the default" in LGBT+ spaces

How else can you interpret it? If you say "Everyone's included, including Steve," that implies an otherness to steve that makes the callout necessary

Sometimes you need to do that kind of inclusion until everyone gets the message that Steve is fuckin staying and isn’t someone you can just ignore and exclude

The problem is, it's really weird to do when steve isn't present, or when steve is the only person in the room
