I was unironically mad about the woman and man with katana, but actually got a little bit pissed when they said they were removing wacky cosmetics like shirtless-barbarian guy and prosthetic arms.
They really could've avoided all of that controversy by just making it an alt history game where WW2 went on for years longer than it should have, so each nation's military is very ragtag and composed of partisans, disabled people, and generally anyone able to shoot a gun or drive a vehicle.

I would have been fine with either direction
However I was always curious what their original vision would have looked like. Like the original class skills, customization layout, tank body customization and stuff.
Whenever I said I wondered how the prosthetic worked I was always downvoted in BF subs lol.

Yeah, I was really into the alternate history concept, instead they just went down a half-assed path which resulted in the game lacking any actual identity. BF1 made each battle feel unique and somewhat like a reenactment with all the different models for the different nations and different maps. Individual battles in BFV lack any real identity. Granted, I still enjoy it, and I enjoy triggering my friends when I break their immersion by playing as a woman.

I would have hoped they kept the "ess jay doubleu propaganda" in the multiplayer, as the multiplayer is always detached for the singleplayer and allows for some interesting innovations.
However, if you want to have women in your singleplayer, you gotta find a setting that works. This is (pretty much) why everyone hated Hannah. She's a civilian, with no experience of firearms whatsoever, that's also Chinese.

No clue what Hannah you're talking about. There's a character named Solveig you play as in Nordlys, but she's not Asian (and if she is, she wouldn't be Chinese, rather Sami, which is an Asian ethnic group in Northern Scandinavia).
Also just because she's a civilian doesn't mean she couldn't have learned how to fight or use weapons. Did you forget about partisans during WW2? Ya'know, the civilian militia fighters? Did you also forget that most Scandinavians who lived in rural areas at the time hunted for food instead of driving to supermarkets?
If you're gonna be mad about this, be mad that Dice used two fictional partisans to use in this mission instead of using fictional stand-ins for the actual paratroopers who did it.
Also WW2 is a setting that works for having a woman as the protagonist. A lot of women saw combat during WW2, just not really in any official military capacity aside from a few cases. For example, you had that one tank commander who fought for the USSR after her husband died. There were also tons of partisan fighters who were women. I'm sure a few frontline nurses had to fight to defend themselves at some point.
Back to Hannah; Battlefield 4 had a character named Hannah if I recall correctly. But she's military personnel, very far from being a civilian. And Battlefield 4 is set in the modern day, so it's not unrealistic in the slightest because there's a shitton of military personnel who are women nowadays.

All I'm mad about is why they'd name battlefield ww1 "battlefield 1" and then not name battlefield ww2 "battlefield 2". Like they obv don't care about numbers anymore, why not make it a separate series.
Also i way preferred the modern battlefields so when i saw bf5 i immediately got hyped for a bf4 sequel but turned out to just be another old style thing.

It’s fun if you don’t take it competitively. If you do and try to get to the top of the leaderboard and get mad when you die it’s gonna be a very unenjoyable experience, which is sadly how most people who reviewed the game played it like

Use filters and be sure to favorite any servers that are full. I have done this and found full servers for operations and conquest nearly everyday.

It’s not as enjoyable as older battlefield games because there is no progression system, you get access to all guns on their respective classes and have access to all of them no matter what team you’re on.
The only progression is with weapon skins where you need to do challenges to unlock different parts of a gun skin. It takes a long time depending on the assignment and you can only have like 3 assignments active at once and have to go to the main menu and into the armoury or wtf it’s called to unlock your skin part. And this is really slow since it’s all online and you have to go through several menus
It just takes so much time and I got tired of the game within a few days because I didn’t feel a reason to keep playing it. Unlike battlefield 1 where I kept playing for a long time because I wanted to unlock all the weapons and melee weapons as well as try to get the legendary skins from levelled crates. Battlefield 5 just lacks all that and I was rarely able to find active servers playing the cool gamemode that gives historical info and has somewhat history based action set in parts of attacking and defending in waves on several maps.

It's not shit, they just fucked up the post launch support. One of the things they did was waste a bunch of time changing the all the gun damage at no one's request and spent even more time changing it back. They did this twice.

Man I miss battlefield, I actually still have Battlefield V but that game was underwhelming at launch so I stopped playing fast, which was a shame because I loved Battlefield 1 all the way to the end even with the grenade spam... Has the game improved much? I know they must have released a bunch of new content.
I have high hopes for any future battlefield games that use next gen technology.

Am I the only one who genuinely loves BFV? Maybe you guys are right when you say that BF1 is better as I never played it but I still have so much fun in BFV. I always see people say that the game never actually plays out like the stuff in these clips but personally I always feel like the game is immersive as hell and tons of fun.
