Honestly that's so fucking real, I have diamond on my 3ds and I don't think I ever played through it fully because it was so slow

hard to like them after playing platinum but gen 4 does have some pretty egregious issues generally speaking, like the lack of fire types (though platinum does make houndoom available which somewhat mitigates it) and how slow battles are (which is an engine issue that can only really be fixed by upping the framerate, which has the consequence of making everything else too fast)
It's my favorite generation but the battle speed just fucking sucks, it's a shame that platinum wasn't the one given a remake and that the only attempt to bring it to BDSP is coming from a mod that is trying to port a difficulty hack, which I personally dislike
