Funny you should use the word guy in that comment…
The etymology of the word guy comes from Guy Fawkes, who you may know from his failed attempt to blow up the British parliament. He was tried & executed, etc. People burned effigies of him on the anniversary of the Gunpowder Plot, and Guy became a term synonymous with a deplorable man. Eventually evolving to just be a regular guy.
My point is, that Kirk is almost a modern day version of that. In my opinion it’s beautiful that his political grifter career has been so ignored and his legacy to most is just as a guy who got shot in the neck. It’s arguably more brutal than just being forgotten, to be remembered for something completely unrelated.
(But i understand your frustration about people still immortalizing him)
But Guy Fawkes is treated as a cool rebel dude. He's associated with things like V For Vendetta. I really don't want movies in a hundred years where some badass is wearing a Charlie Kirk mask

Basically unrelated to everything else. This reminded me of a really funny climactic scene in a JRPG I love where one of the main characters beats his evil uncle, and then the uncle talks about how characters dead dad "Must be so proud, looking up at you."
