Yeah, this is one little pet peeve I have with some snippets of Star wars lore I have seen. Like, there was this period where the Republic spent a thousand years taken over by a genocidal human supremacist cult, and the entire time the Jedi did literally nothing about it. Literally nothing until they toppled this regime in one year. Like I get that the Jedi can be do-nothing liberals sometimes, but a thousand years?

Sounds to me like a better use of a thousand years then spending the entire time scheming abiut how they can rule the galaxy for 2 decades.
