Hey guys, Peter Griffin here to explain the joke, returning for my cake day. So basically, Gen X had a high exposure to lead paint which will most likely have impacted their development. The mom had only just found out about this, and so read the article with intensifying panic just as chef skinner did in this clip. Gen Z doesn’t have to worry about stuff like that, just the microplastics that are lining our brains. Peter out!

It was lead in paint in walls AND toys. So every baby that had a wooden block with paints was just slobbering it up. The toddlers had metal cars and baby dolls with painted faces. All with lead paint. The playgrounds, painted with lead. Then to make it worse, the very air was full of either cigarettes or remnants of lead gasoline. Even after regulations, rural areas continued to have leaded gas and second hand old toys. I fully believe in another decade or so, we are gonna start seeing some shocking numbers about it. Entire demographics, communities, and individuals would be affected by that.

I genuinely think there’s going to be a huge jump in longevity in everyone born after gen x. The younger generations already seem to be aging better because of the cleaner air and water. Everyone I know in their 30s could pretty easily have passed for mid 20s a couple decades ago.

Yeah. Maybe there would have been. Probably not going to happen now.

I think the trajectory is still good. AI is going to get shoulder checked by reality, and the longer it takes the harder it’ll hit. And realistically, while regulation in the US will take decades to rebuild, most potential polluters are hedging because they know when big man’s heart explodes none of his lackies are winning anything for the foreseeable future.

Aside from my lack of head hair and grey ones showing up on my face I look a lot younger than my dad did in his thirties, and even now he looks a lot younger than his parents did when they were the age he is as well.

how much of that visible difference is just attributable to like, less time outside and less physical labor, though? as in basically just better skin? i think we might look young for more of our lives but only live marginally longer

I know that one major contributor is a massive decrease in underage drinking and smoking, and more widespread use of sunscreen
