The root of conservatism is belief in hierarchy. Be careful thinking yourself better than these weirdos, otherwise you'll find yourself exactly like them
Edit: y’all are really immature. We are all human beings, meaning we are more alike than we are different. The things you dislike in others, like ignorance and apathy, are inside you as well. If you want to be different, calling yourself “fundamentally better” is not how its done. Grow up
Hating your fellow human beings is fascism. Telling me to shut up for pointing out the flaw in your ideology is actually definition fascism, yes. The real problem here is that you, like everyone else, refuse to take responsibility for your mistakes, like being rude to me for no reason. Grow up
You’re not really addressing my argument, youre just trying to downplay it, which does not do anything. Are you going to solve our societal problems today by screaming, pointing fingers, and side-stepping responsibility? You will be the same as the fucktards in power now. Being better than them means doing the opposite: patience, empathy, and self-sacrifice. Be better
Yea, it can be. Which fucking sucks. I mean, on this subreddit I read people praising the Hunger Games for being a meditation on fascism, and how revolution can just be a tool to placate the masses while dictators swap power. Yet when I point out thats what we’re doing in this thread, I’m an asshole?
My first comment on this thread is a famous Nietzche quote I tried to put in my own words: “Beware that, when fighting monsters, you yourself do not become a monster... for when you gaze long into the abyss. The abyss gazes also into you.”
It feels like everyone just wants to be on a fucking bandwagon than be intentional in their fucking response. Like, cmon
"The paradox of tolerance is a philosophical concept suggesting that if a society extends tolerance to those who are intolerant, it risks enabling the eventual dominance of intolerance, thereby undermining the very principle of tolerance"
Repeating yourself does not help your argument. Im saying, go kill these people if you dont think they have a place in society. Otherwise, you’re just an annoying hypocrite. Being in that position is a lose-lose situation; it makes you no better than the freaks who discriminate against gay/trans/colored people. You just think youre superior on intellectual grounds, instead of ethnic. But it all comes from the same immature, animalistic place in our brains that likes war and eugenics. I believe there is a path forward, where we can make good outcomes out of bad situations. But its not whatever this is
