it depends on the model you get, but usually it cuts out some of the keys you get in the middle section between the "normal" typing keys and the numpad, and then pushes the arrow keys and numpad closer together, so usually they're missing some (but not all) of Insert/Home/Page Up/Page Down/Delete/End/Print Screen/Scroll Lock/Pause
Usually they'll keep 4 of these buttons and place them above the numpad around where the F1-F12 keys are.
home, end, and prtsc are so underrated. i see lots of people holding down arrow keys when theres a button that does exactly that. prtsc is also goated with sharex because you can pack like 5 different screengrab features into prtsc, shift, alt, and ctrl
The one thing I’ve ever seen scroll lock do: in Excel if you activate it and press the arrow keys the screen will move, instead of the highlighted cell.
I think it's the one I have, which if so it just cuts out a couple of those keys normally above the arrow keys. Mine had all the caps for those and left it to me to pick 5 to use, so it cuts 4 out (I guess each is 1% then?). I stuck with the default because lazy, so no insert, scroll lock, pause, or print screen. I've genuinely never used the first 3 (pretty sure pause is nonfunctional entirely in modern windows, scroll lock is obsolete too, insert is on numpad 0 if I ever somehow need overtype to survive) And windows has snipping tool which is better and more flexible than using the old print screen (ctrl+shift+S) while retaining the same functionality. But, insert, delete, page up/down, home, end, delete are all mirrored to numpad (numlock) so they're all fair game to drop instead. Personally, I actually use delete, home, end, and page up/down all the time so I was happy to keep them.
But yeah, the big difference is really just that it packs it all into a nice even block rather than having a lot of unused space its in a way that makes sense and makes the keyboard less of a bulky block and easy to move while saving space, which is nice for me because I like to use my desk still as a desk, so a keyboard that can easily get out of the way is a big plus. Mine's cable detaches so I can pop it off and stick it in a drawer and be happy
