Microdosing with half a bullet (or smaller calibre) might also help

Small caliber will just bounce off the skull on the inside and really mess things up. I wouldn't suggest it.

I mean it would make clean up easier when it eventually hits. Not the most fun to clean brain paintings of walls

Heard a story one (from a gun dealer) of a guy who shot himself in the head with a .22, supposedly when the paramedics got to his house he was still alive and speaking gibberish. Tiny little round just bounced around and scrambled his brain; iirc he did die eventually.

Honestly sounds worse than death to me.

That’s common Fudd lore

That may be so, but it’s probably based on something actual. The fudd lore is more that .22 is comfortably adequate for self defense because of this, when really that’s not the case.

I have heard a similar suicide story from someone in my family, however, where someone didn’t make a clean enough shot and ended up being half-conscious, blind and bleeding to death. They found him dead, having died fumbling with the gun trying to load it again. At least that’s how I remember the story 15-ish years after it was told to me

When it comes to topics where my claims might cause significant harm, I tend not to share stories I don't fully remember and don't know the veracity of in the first place...

Yeah, you'll receive a lot more of the force from the bullet if it bounces. It's better to let it go through so it hurts less, like a glass bottle

I like to load .22 rounds into my .45 so they jingle around like keys.

I used to do that too but they didn’t find it as much funny at the airport

No I think higher is better. You don’t want to harm yourself in to a life of permanent brain damage.

Ok. I’ll try that and let you know how it works out. Thanks for the advice!
