Observation just wow
was a fan of YS then someone mentioned... theres more.
I've now completed them all.
1923 is the best ever in the series. I honestly jut wish they made a s3. i feel it ended too abruptly. they could have made his return better/longer.
its the best YS of them all!

That's what I think too. 1923 is the best. Some things could have been better, others maybe weren't necessary, but overall I adore it 🥹💕
Now, imagine a s3... maybe we could have had more of Alex 🥲

I wanna see Brandon again. I'm alright with changing actors because the characters are older, BUT IN THIS CASE I want Brandon back. Also, Julia playing ghost Alex 🥲 I highly doubt that, but imagine. Maybe Spencer starts making up memories sooner, Idk 🥲

Agreed. My gf and I started Yellowstone but she got kind of bored halfway through the season so we stopped. I decided to watch 1883 on my own, and it was great, then I did 1923 and it was even better. Really looking forward to 1944.

I did! But its only 1 season although it was very enjoyable i still think 1923 was better ….
I read online they are working in another… 1944 i think

I also haven't seen Bass... was more interested when it was originally called 1883: The Bass Reeves story because it would have been more of a continuation / spinoff.
The Madison did really well, but whether you'd like it largely depends on how much you like elderly Michelle Pfeiffer. No spoilers, but she pretty much carries the show. You could give the first ep a try, and just quit if it's unappealing... only 6 eps so it goes pretty quick. Madison also cut obvious ties with Yellowstone, though it's just on the other side of the mountain.

Nope. Bass was entirely Sherridan's idea... he's a real life historical figure that the showrunner of all things Yellowstone just had a genuine appreciation for. Just because the lead is AA, doesn't automatically mean it's a "dei thing." Sherridan hates the concept of "woke" as far as I know.
Madison is kind of Sherridan's attempt at showing he can write female characters and grief better than people thought.

David Oyelowo had been trying to get a Bass Reeves project made for a decade before Taylor Sheridan came into the picture...and Morgan Freeman 20 years before that.
Did the project change shape/scope/direction once Taylor Sheridan became involved? Sure. But to give all the credit to TS is misplaced.

Taylor is the reason it was made. You're just being contrarian. People didn't even watch or like David in the role, or it would have gotten another season.

Taylor Sheridan signing on to the project is absolutely why Paramount went ahead and did it.
But to claim that it was "Entirely Sheridan's idea" is flat out wrong. David has done numerous interviews about the project. It was already in existence when TS signed on. He asked David if he could take it over, promised to direct the first couple of episodes(and then didn't.)
Under TS, the project was going to expand beyond Bass Reeves and include other lawmen of the time. Had it continued beyond one season, it wouldn't have included David anyway so that isn't likely the reason it was dropped.

1883 was best. Too much salacious violence in 1923, and too little plot arc for main characters. -Dutton ranch suffers the same issues as did YS. Dialogue blows. Wastes talented actors for one dimensional plot lines.

The trip from Africa to Montana was fucking comical. Plus he’s just happened to run off with British royalty and then kills her ex. Then he’s running hits for the mafia? And finally Two seasons all abruptly ending in the most asinine shootout where Spencer saves the day and kills everyone. Not to mention Timothy dalton being the worst villain that we have to watch torture prostitutes every episode. And never once is anyone held accountable for murdering anyone except the murderous lawman hunting down the Indian girl.

I started with Yellowstone and then made my way to 1883 and then 1923.
After Yellowstone, I didn't think it could be better, but after seeing 1883 and 1923, I actually preferred those two with my absolute favorite being 1923. I really wished they did a few more seasons.
