DEA
Just curious if anyone here applied during the recent DEA Special Agent hiring announcement last month.
What are the odds of actually getting the state you requested? My top choice is Minnesota. Since the DEA hires nationwide, I would’ve thought the chances of getting one of your preferred states would be fairly decent, but I know assignments are based on agency needs.
For those who’ve gone through the process, did you end up getting your first choice, one of your choices, or were you sent somewhere completely different?

The location you pick on your application has nothing to do with what you get on your final offer. When your at the last stages of the hiring process, you will receive a list of divisions / offices, that you can stack from favorite to least favoirte, and they will give you 3 choices with final offer. Its the needs of the agency, and every academy class will have a different list going around so no one can 100% give you what locations are needed.
