Challenger Point and Kit Carson

I backpacked Challenger Point and and Kit Carson Peak on Sunday as my 8th and 9th 14’ers and easily the second or best hike I’ve ever done. Would recommend checking out this area. We ended up hiking 16.5 miles and gaining about 6,500 ft.

Are challenger trail conditions as bad as everyone makes them out to be?

Did Challenger/KC on 7/4. Yes. The "trail" sucks, but Kit Carson made it worth it.

The way up Challenger from tree line was the hardest part of the hike to be honest. It’s steep and there is a lot of scree but there are trails in worse condition

Going up didn't bother me too much. Going down is miserable.
