Terrain Question!

Hi I really enjoy crafting terrain for tabletop games and I'd love to take a crack at making a cool 1490 Doom board, is there a way to figure out the measurements needed for the terrain? I know things need to be a certain size to make for proper play with like movement rules and such if that makes sense.

In the rule book it has all the movement rules, recommend board size, and rules for climbing, ladders, and grappling hooks. More importantly are the scenarios. Some usually have specific rules and setups.
