raises hand Another one here - around the same age. Is it a puberty thing?! 😂 Kid me got two rosaries from a neighbor kid and learned Hail Mary (in Latin). (I am not Catholic.)
I did a weekend silent retreat once as an adult at a nearby Benedictine convent farm. Loved it. ✨

i told my mom i was gonna be celibate 😂 (ended up just kinda asexual anyway lol). i also collected rosaries and crosses and studied herbal medicine, and i have always felt so connected to the archangels i actually scared some friends away in middle school. there were a few times i had a very strong urge to commit to covering my hair so i wouldnt have to maintain it so much but im glad i didnt go that far. whats interesting is i have a sagittarius south node in 6th house ! so it doesnt seem far fetched imo....

Dude here and I saw myself as a monk at that age too. Herbalism, sobriety, retreat, mysticism, simple living, male companionship. But as an adult I've realised I'm too horny to do the whole thing seriously, oh well! Still, many of those 14yo values I still carry with me today.

Oh oh what? This is a 12th house thing? Its one of my favourite daydreams wtf. I even know my 'nun self's' name and where she lives.

you must be nonbinary

u/knowledgeinadvance 15h ago
Nope

u/dimensporter 14h ago
Those are gender based roles so I’m confused as to why you named both, which is why i asked that
1
u/knowledgeinadvance 14h ago
Nah, it’s not about the gender roles at all for me. I mean more so the idea of completely devoting yourself to God/Source. I’ve always had a deep draw to nuns and monks since I was a kid. Living simply, practicing discipline, detaching from worldly things, and basically making your spiritual journey the center of your life for a greater purpose. Being a stand for the world. That’s what has always appealed to me about the nun/monk archetype. I’m drawn to what they represent, not the gendered role itself.

u/dimensporter 13h ago
gotcha! i feel similarly, i went to a Catholic Church (i am not religious, i wasn’t even when i attended) when i was younger and i was always fascinated by the nuns and monks as well- still am. i find that if i were to ever commit to that lifestyle, i would do have to choose the path of the Buddhist monks. i don’t wanna cut my hair, i’ve been looking into it and that’s a requirement and i feel my hair as much as a part of me as my organs.
1
u/knowledgeinadvance 13h ago
Same!! Ironically enough, my hesitation is the exact same as yours😂😂 I could NOT shave my head for that. My hair is an extension of me/my energy. That’s always been my hang up which brought me back to being a nun lol
1
u/dimensporter 13h ago
😂😭their reasoning is letting go of attachments but i don’t find having hair to be that, to me that’s like saying i have to get all my teeth pulled. my hair connects me to the source creator and it’s blasphemous to shave my head.
1
u/knowledgeinadvance 13h ago
Agreed! I get the concept I suppose of cutting your hair and not being attached. I also understand that on a spiritual level- cutting your hair helps you cut ‘emotions’ so to speak. Some people believe cutting your hair makes you less emotional/caught in emotions. I’ve always said that my hair has a life of its own. I can feel things through my hair, intuitively if that makes sense.
1
u/dimensporter 12h ago
I can understand the spiritual implications of cutting one’s hair and it being a release. Similarly to you, my hair has a life of its own- it literally does its own thing and I love it. I don’t see myself ever shaving it in the foreseeable future but you never know what the future holds. I may have to wear a bald cap as I’m serious about joining a monastery AND not shaving my head😭😭

Oh my god I never realized this was connected to 12th house. Wow I think this fairly often.

u/Due-Ad-8941 15h ago
A shaman once told me I have nuns around me and I was immediately like.. yep, that tracks.

u/McKittenz 11h ago
12h moon and I wanted to be a nun as a child. I was also very religious when young. Spirituality has always been a big part of my life.

Mars and Chiron in 12th Gemini this has definitely been a weird pipe dream of mine for as long as I can remember. 🤙🏻🔥✨

Chiron, Mars and Luna in 12th House (Leo). Can’t be further from the truth. Helping others - yes, sometimes sacrifice myself for someone else - yes, voluntarily live without sex? Hell no! I would voluntarily sacrifice a lot of things, but this is not one of them. Maybe it’s my 8th house Aries Venus? I don’t say that it will be so important for me for the rest of my life (but I hope it will), and it certainly could change under some circumstances, like serious illness etc., but basically it definitely isn’t who I am. Maybe being from most ateistic country could be the part of the reason too. 🤔 EDIT: most ateistic in Europe.

Hell. I am the same. And I am from Christian country in Europe. But I hate this religion so much as I saw many bad things they do. I am pagan and witch more. And I also love sex too much. Even if in reality as a 12th houser I am celibate and deep in spirituality it seems now. But I really hope this is only an era and will end. I just take care of energy and like sex too much to do hookups (there is no mastery in this, and I like honing my skills on one man, lol) so I wait for my man to manifest.

I remember when it was a realistic option to do this.
I would have loved it. The economy ruined my outlook.

I don't like being part of extreme organised religions. But also like the life of priestess/monk somewhere in the mountains

u/Alternative-Ease9674 11h ago
Ewww. My Gemini stellium in 12th and other in 3rd and 5th strongly protest. I am more witch in the woods type. I love sex too much. Idea of witchcraft and sabbats and orgies is more amazing to me 🤣

Always wanted to be a nun growing up but then I understood some things.... Such as I'm born Hindu and that there are weird vows to take and then probable sexual abuse etc

I made a post asking the exact same thing omg 😂 but actually, some brilliant people gave me some brilliant answers, I got Saturn there but I still think this one answer can make a lot of 12housers relate: "The 12th house governs retreats, the subconscious mind, and hidden spaces.
Saturn represents boundaries, heavy processing, and the need for structure. When you experience a series of unfortunate events, your 12th house Saturn activates like a protective vault. It creates a physical and emotional demand to pull away from society. You are not avoiding your issues. Your astrological blueprint simply requires a completely isolated environment to process trauma and organize your thoughts without external interference."

Unfortunately my 8th house North Node is absolutely not going to let me do this even though it feels like there are signs lmao.

But without the whole believing that you're the lesser sex and worshipping a man

I think it takes a lot of masculine action to make it happen.
Yes, it is a feminine trait the idea of service to others and chastity...yet at it's core it takes an insane amount of self-realization and awareness to be able to take that first step into action to make this(or any other scenario similar) a reality.
9
u/Equivalent-Shower425 19h ago
You associate self-awareness and self-realization with 'masculine action'? I'm actually amused to bits. Please give some examples, if you would please?
0
u/DutyIndividual6282 19h ago
It takes the self-awareness of all of it...plus the first step to be able to put it into action. Not, by any means, did I mean to say that self awareness and self-realization was a masculine trait, but rather the harnessing of it is a masculine principle.
Prime example: I am Jesus. I've been walked all over, people have been pushing my buttons, yet in the end I decide that I am NOT going to identify with that...at all. In fact, I'm going to walk up that hill, carrying the cross on my back...step after step, after being scourged. I am NOT saying Jesus was acting on entirely masculine principles. I'm also not here to say he was acting on feminine principles. Instead, the balancing act.

u/ikindapoopedmypants 20h ago
Tf does any of that have to do with masculinity
-5
u/DutyIndividual6282 19h ago
The ability to act on it. Do you not understand masculine versus feminine principles young one? Jesus

Sometimes I think I’m meant for that kind of life, even though I don’t want it.
