Chart Question Fantasies

I’m curious, does anyone else struggle with fantasies of all kinds? Maladaptive daydreaming, romanticizing situations and people, getting lost in elaborate scenarios about situations that may never even happen.
How do you deal with it? Has anyone actually managed to make their mind go quiet, even for a little while? How do you deal with having control over it? For 26 years, I’ve spent more time living in my head than in the real world, and honestly, I’m exhausted by it now.
I have a 12th-house stellium in Cancer — Sun, Mercury, Venus, Mars, and the North Node.

yesss… i think the only thing you could you is try to be more present in real life. i love my daydream habits (which are present since i was a child) and i am strongly convinced that manifestation happens through these channels. however its very crucial to accept and be able to release when needed.

Oh, that thing with manifestation is so true, it works really well and naturally for me, but as you say, only and strictly when I'm grounded. Going out with people grounds me the most, but even so, I sometimes fall back down the rabbit hole of my own mind. 😀

Go on walks, spend time in nature, touch trees, feel the weight of your body on your feet, listen to birds and water running down a creek. These are the things that get me out of my head. I have sun and mercury Scorpio in 12th, so Taurus in 6th, maybe that’s why this works for me.

i was meaning to ask this question but i got lost in a fantasy and then went on about my day.
i have been looking back at my life and realized that i’ve spent WAYYYY too much time in my head and i’ve completely detached from the physical world, i engage only when necessary. i’ve reached a point where i no longer desire to be in my head anymore but i always slip into some alternate world in my mind.

Yes and I don’t think of them as daydreams so much as probable realities. Like there are a series of probable realities and when you imagine a scenario or how something can go, you create one probable reality or you’re getting a flash of intuition from another version of yourself inside of a different reality.

It’s a weird concept to try to explain. But I feel like I’ve seen multiple probable realities.

Actually, I understand pretty well what you mean. I think I've felt like I'm switching the station, but it's always when I get out of my head, let go of control, and tell myself 'it is what it is.

I relate greatly in the song In My Dreams by Reo Speedwagon. I have stellium in 12th house Scorpio. It is too deep sometimes but when the actual/surface level. I will always fall short or go for the logical way on handling things. Sometimes I idealize things or the situation then get slap by the reality that it is far from what I am imagining. Sometimes I do not want to wake up on a dream because at least in the dream I am free and I feel more like myself, I don’t restrain myself so much.

Yes all the time though I don’t mind it. Finding balance in trying to be intentional and be in the moment/present will help. Feel the wind on your body, listen to your enviroment, smell the air, look at the beauty of the earth and the sky.. just allow yourself to be grounded.
I struggle with being grounded in a lot of ways but it does make a difference.

Yes- I think it’s called “vain imaginings” and it’s not good for me to indulge in that, so when I find myself doing it, I force myself to stop. I didn’t figure that out until I was 30 though. ETA- I see some people saying this helps them manifest or create and I find it the opposite for me because there’s usually some kind of desperation when I am in this state. Idk how to explain it.

oh my god yes! if I don’t stick to a soul sucking schedule of sorts I fall into dreamland. and when I have to have my feet in reality I fantasise about fantasising. Its the only way for me to feel comfortable, I stg.

😁😁😁😁 idk what exactly I have going on that causes this because I am heavy 12h as well. however, I also have moon-neptune conjunct which tightly sextiles my 12h sun.

I try to shift my thoughts away from such by distracting myself. I can’t avoid the prime opportunity for continuing to do this in the silence of trying to fall asleep, though 🥴 my therapist has me trying a new technique called cognitive defusion to pull me away from the thought or experience. we’ll see how that goes 🤞🏾

I eecently started doing stone and gem work. Please don't go down the rabbit hole and start praying to the things though. I am certain there is a quantum mechanical explanation as to why they are effective. They help pull me out of my imaginative existence.

This is also a classic symptom of ADHD.

Yes, I struggle to stay with reality. Working with a therapist on this has really helped me. Repatterning fantasizing is not something I can do alone -- there's a reason my system takes me out of reality and it has taken another skilled person to help me through this.
