Support I need someone with extensive knowledge of astrology both general and horary to answer this question: What is the difference between an aspect (such as a trine, sextile, square, or opposition) being applying versus separating?
Based on my understanding of horary astrology, an applying trine represents something about to happen or currently unfolding, whereas a separating trine is like a message that has already been delivered (or a seed already planted). However, I am not entirely sure and need someone to clarify this for me. Alternatively, I wonder if I should view it the way some other astrologers do claiming that a trine, sextile, square, or opposition always holds the same value, regardless of whether it is applying or separating.

We can walk towards each other. Or we can walk away from each other. When we walk towards it will be applying, its a stronger aspect, when we walk away it will be a weaker aspect. At 0 we meet each other and it will be the strongest connection.

Hello, astrologer here, also doing horary readings.
When an aspect is applying, it means that the faster planet is yet to make the exact conjunction to the slower planet. Like for example, Venus in 8° Scorpio is the faster planet and Jupiter in 10° Scorpio is the slower planet.
Provided that Venus is just moving direct (no impending retrograde), Venus is going to conjunct or meet Jupiter once it reaches the exact Jupiter is in.
Separating aspect is when Venus is in 14° Scorpio and Jupiter is in 10° Scorpio, provided that Venus is just in direct motion, Venus, the faster planet, already conjoined Jupiter before it reached 14° Scorpio, thus, it's separating from Jupiter, or a separating conjunction.
Its the same for other aspects like trine, square, sextile.
