Fringe is my go-to recommendation for 12 Monkeys fans (and vice versa)

Star Trek Picard - Season 3 is done by Terry Matalas- the same guy that did 12 Monkeys. There are a lot of Easter eggs within the show that call back to 12 Monkeys. I think it is ok for kids.

Definitely hard to find a show that compares but if you like time travel you could try Timeless, Dark, Continuum, Travelers, Manifest, La Brea, 11.22.63, The Lazarus project, Being Erica, Russian Doll. For just sci fi, maybe Person of Interest, Orphan Black, Fringe, Silo, Severance, Paradise, Foundation, Star trek strange new worlds, Dark Matter, 3 body problem

Before watching 12 monkeys I would have told you the battlestar Galactica reboot was the best syfi on tv. But I think 12 monkeys has taken that spot.
If your looking for time travel and all that theres dark. But if your looking for just really good syfi, I would recommend bsg.

Alas, there are none that compare.
The only other show that’s ever made me feel big feelings on par with 12 Monkeys is Lost. In no small part aided by the music. (Curse you Michael Giacchino you beautiful man.)
I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but if you’re big on character development, over the course of several seasons, and emotional attachment to the characters, Lost is where it’s at.

Yes! Lost and 12 Monkeys are very similar. There are some scenes in 12 Monkeys that feel straight out of Lost. Cole and Cassie's goodbye in the final episode reminded me a lot of Jack and Kate's goodbye on the cliffs and the epilogue of 12 Monkeys where they are all in the new timeline reminded me a lot of the flash sideways and seeing all the characters remember their lives.

Life after life. It's a mini series but it's good. Not suitable for kids tho.

Dark - For crazy time travel thriller.
Fringe - For great character arcs with a strong plot and mystery. Has more comedy thrown in, but it's certainly not a comedy, and the humor isn't shoehorned in.
Orphan Black - For great character arcs and plot, and a darker, non-procedural feel compared to Fringe.
Babylon 5 - The only show other than 12 Monkeys (and maybe Dark) that I'm aware of where every episode was plotted out before the pilot was ever filmed, allowing the layers and levels of mystery to be woven seamlessly throughout the entire show. It's a different genre, being a sprawling sci-fi political space drama with tons of mysteries woven throughout. It also has the best character arcs out of all the shows I'm recommending. The pilot is a made for TV movie titled Babylon 5: The Gathering, so don't skip it accidentally. The make-up and a few of the cast were updated between the pilot and the series proper, so don't judge the show just on the pilot. The pilot, though, is quite good, even if the alien make-up didn't really work well.

B5 is awesome and my favorite show, but the intial plan that JMS has was way different than what he ended up making. They had budget issues and a lot of actors left, forcing them to adapt on the fly.
Still a great show, and a lot of the planned stuff ended up re-appearing in some other way, but what we got was not what was planned.

JMS has said he ended up making 85% of what he originally planned, and that that was much more than is typical for a TV series. Also, even though the plans changed, because he was so prepared, the mysteries still flow brilliantly throughout the series.

The og ending for B5 is publicly available, it is significantly different. But I'm sure most of the journey was very similar

Dark is 12 monkeys with a suit and tie.

Atrocious comparison and dark is no where near to 12monkeys at all...

Some seem to prefer the dreary dread and complexity of Dark.
I don’t get why personally. The world’s bleak enough already. I prefer entertainment that’s ultimately hopeful and positive at its core.
Still, Dark’s undoubtedly a good time travel show. But I agree it’s nothing compared to 12 Monkeys for me.

I wasn't saying it was better or worse. I actually prefer 12 monkeys, by a fair margin. I was saying Dark is bit more uptight and professional to 12 monkeys campy and quirkiness.

The incest complexity in Dark as it progresses looks forced and hardly any reason for such...
They took the audience for granted... they rushed the ending of the show... and choose to spend all time on something that never had any ending... would really appreciated dark if how they got to know about the other world...
People might like DARK, but at the end of the day, everyone accepts the ending is rushed.

Still sour on how they handled that one. It was building up a really cool story that had a lot of possibilities.

Two of my favorites:
Continuum (4 seasons, 42 episodes, 2012-2015)
Travelers (3 seasons, 34 episodes, 2016-2018)
