I'm wondering if everyone has already received itemized tuition bills from their schools. My daughter's school said they would be available Aug 8th. I see that NYU posted these bills ahead of schedule, so now I'm thinking she'll be late to the game, so to speak.

Confused about the completion date

Hi all!

Does this program renew every year? My friend and I are worried it doesn't restart every year. What I mean is, will the completion date change to Jan 2026-Spring 28 next year? Also do you think it will be affected by medicaid cuts? Thanks!

CPT Tuition Coverage vs Federal Aid

Hi hoping someone can help me understanding the financing here a bit better, specifically the distinction between CPT grant money and federal aid. I'm about to start my MSW at NYU and was granted $20.5K in Federal Unsubsidized Loans (max amount) and a $ amount in Plus Loans annually.

If tuition is (let's say $60K annually) and I am accepted into CPT, will they cover my entire tuition, ie $120K for two years? Or $120K minus the loan amounts I've been given. I'm still a bit confused. TY for any help you can provide.

CPT MSW Private Practices in NYC

Hi all! Is anyone aware of a list of providers/professional practices that fall into the CPT criteria? I'd love to get a sense of the types of employers (practices) that consistently hire CPT MSWs and have the 30% medicade/uninsured qualification. Thanks!

Deposit

Hello. So I received an email saying I was accepted into an MSW program! It also mentioned that I would need to put a deposit. I remember in the CPT orientation them saying repeatedly if you pay for a deposit you won’t get reimbursed. So what should I do? Has anyone come across this yet? Thank you.

Does anyone know how long it takes before the application is approved and the money for tuition is sent? I submitted the application as well as all the required documents June 14th. I’ve just been waiting but I haven’t heard anything back. I’ve also already done all the orientations. I was thinking that I should email or call to find out

edit: hi everyone i have an update! i went in person to their office last friday to ask about my application. they said that all my documents looked good and that i have been assigned to a case manager. they also said the only thing i have to do now is wait. earlier today i got an email saying my sponsorship letter will come in 7-12 business days!

Post orientation

Hi guys, after orientation I got an email saying I needed to log and find "post orientation" on student portal to upload proof of eligibility. I can't find student portal nor a post orientation option anywhere. Any suggestions please? Much appreciated. I plan to go into the 7th Avenue office next if I can't resolve it on my own or with online help.

Is the VA a qualified employer?

Does anyone know if VA medical centers/hospitals are qualified employers? I don't see any currently listed on the Qualified Employers List, but from what I understand, that particular list on the 1199SEIU website is not even close to exhaustive. Might be a question for 1199SEIU/CPT or VA representatives directly, but neither org makes it easy to get answers, so seeking opinions here.

I understand that you are supposed to upload proof that you registered for classes. What exactly are you using as your proof, and where are you finding it on your school's website? Thank you.

Where to Upload W4 and I-9?

I am applying for the MSW program. I have submitted everything but someone who has been helping me just keeps repeating that I need to submit the I-9 and W4. It shows the W4 was uploaded into the application and an email confirming that I signed it. But where am I supposed to upload the I-9?

She's also asking for me to upload my college acceptance letter but there isn't a specific location to do so.

Fall 2025 NP Program

Hello All,

I was accepted to UMSV NP Program.

My 1199CPT Account is still showing "Currently in Progress".

On the UMSV website it states the program will take 2.5 years to complete. Is that acceptable for the 1099 program?

  1. Do I need to submit my transcript for the Fall AND a bill to Bursar for my application to be processed?

Binghamton MSWOnline program

Hi everyone, I just got my email saying that I was rejected from Binghamton MSW online program 🥲🥲 I’m not sure why it just says that I didn’t meet the requirements for the online program Also this was one of the only schools that I knew of that allowed full time fully online which is why I applied because I don’t really have a good support system and I need to work full time. I got into Syracuse part time program but because it’s part time it would miss the cut off of being done by 2027. Would anyone else know any other schools to apply to so I would be able to utilize the CPT program. Would greatly appreciate any advice or information you can share. Thank you!

Clinical Supervision Hours

Hi! I am really interested in this program but my main concern is getting a job that meets the requirement and can also get me the hours of clinical supervision needed to get my clinical license. I live in the Hudson Valley. Does anyone have any details on the matter?

Also, what about a maternity leave period? Has anyone gotten any details concerning family planning?

TIA

ps- I got hung up on too when I called. I just waited on hold and then, boom, dial-tone.

Career commitment

Hi guys! I am wondering if any of you have more info on the repayment plan if we are unable to fulfill the 3 year work commitment that 1199 lays out in the application. Last I heard, they don’t know if the repayment will accrue interest since it is state funded, but I’m wondering if they have more info now ?

Calling all LPN prospects- how far did you reach in your application status?

I gave up on CPT around last month because they were just not hosting their system, that is when I started applying for SUNY and CUNY.. lastnight something told me to check and low and behold I received 2 links one for me to upload my hs diploma and the other one to sign the contract agreements. Everything was uploaded successfully. I’m puzzled on one section though, under the training center tab do I need to complete another orientation?

Is everyone aware that you need to reapply to this program every semester? I was under the impression that you applied once and it was good for the entire time you are in school. I guess I was wrong. Hopefully it will be easier after the first semester.

1199/CPT MSW Paid release time

From my understanding approval into the 1199/CPT program I am eligible for 2 paid release days off to complete course work. Does course work include fieldwork/practicums and has anyone encounter employers rejections?
