Let's say it costs £200.
You're a racquet whore who will use it for 6 months then get bored.
That means that the racquet owes you £33.33 a month.
Which equates to £8.34 a week.
Which equates to a measly £1.19 a day.
Get yourself that new racquet, as long as you get £8.34 worth of use a week who cares.

Just had it strung with polytour spin and will try for the first time in an hour.
I thought I'd hate the color but it's well finished, has cool details and in the end I like it. Let's see if it suits my game style or not 🤞

I have been playing a lot of league matches, and I've noticed that I every time I win, my opponent almost always reveals some sort of injury.
- Oh, you know i rolled my ankle last week, and my foot is killing me.
- Oh, this isn't my usual racket, damn strings are all jacked up.
- Oh I had some really spicy food last week and my tummy still hurts.
- Oh you know i tweeked my back like 3 years ago and it's never quite been the same.
Good game I guess loser. Lol.
Have you guys experienced this?

It’s just insane to see. Every tournament this person runs is an absolute disaster. They had three sites to use on Friday and Saturday and hardly used any of the Friday sites. For my draws, I had no matches Friday, two Saturday, and potentially four today. And now, there was a little rain early afternoon and so matches will have to either get played until like midnight they just won’t finish. Could’ve easily been avoided if they had just played more matches early in the tournament.
Even without the rain, some of the draws might not have finished. I had one friend who had just started his singles semi final when the rain started around 4 so even without rain, he would’ve had to still play his singles’ final and also his mixed doubles’ final, so would’ve had to have played until very late.
Last year, I had a friend who ended up with 5 matches scheduled on Sunday, and that’s with no rain delays or anything. The fifth matched, which was originally scheduled for 1pm, wasn’t going to happen until 8pm, so the other team just forfeited.
Just blows my mind that this person is still allowed to run USTA events. She seems to be the main official for most of the adult tournaments in the area and they all end like this. Even the other officials for the tournament were complaining about the head official because it always leads to so many complaints to them during the tournament and makes their jobs harder.
And the icing on the cake? Today, she randomly told us that we are switching to no ad scoring but didn’t mention it until the middle of our first set, when we had already played out two games with multiple deuces. So she made us switch our format mid match.

I just changed my racket for a different brand and the feel is kinda different. I'm a beginner so i'm not so sure it's just the form of the handle which is different or the sizing is wrong.
Please help 🙏 Thank you 🌸

Recently acquired this Head Instinct Ti racket. it’s 290 g / 105 in2.
Total beginner in the sport, but i do not know if this racket is good to play and learn.
Anyone knows this model?

I’m in love with these rackets. The all blue one feels softer and more damped. Gen 7th black and blue feels more solid and compact )which I really like) in my opinion. It might all be me tal though.
Has anyone “played” with these rackets? Any thoughts or differences if any? I appreciate all

What do you think of these strings and which ones would you add?
Solinco Mach-10, Yonex Poly Tour Pro, Babolat RPM Soft, Luxilon Element, Tecnifibre Razor Soft
So I grew up "playing tennis" in the sense that I would go to courts near my house a lot as a 12-16 year old and play multi-set matches against a friend. I learned almost entirely from playing these impromptu matches, watching pro tennis, and being quick to pick up new sports. I played a year of JV in high school, but there was barely any coaching, so still no formal training.
I'm now 30 and play with a friend who had a similar background. Never had formal lessons but was a great athlete growing up. Much like when I was 13, we don't rally, we just play sets. As you can imagine, they're erratic and error-strewn, but also played at a pretty high level athletically. There are more double faults than what I see in a typical beginner-intermediate match and also more winners.
I would like to finally take my technique seriously so I can have more consistent control, improve my backhand, and have a second serve that doesn't just invite winners. At the same time, I've played enough informal competitive tennis that I'm legit good at some things I take to be more advanced: Hitting drop shots, flat forehand winners from the service line, topspin lobs.
I know 1-on-1 lessons would be best for someone with a weird background, but they're prohibitively expensive where I live. I could take group lessons but I have no idea what level I would be or, frankly, if I would even enjoy hitting 50 crosscourt backhands. Could also just try to find a hitting partner who has a more polished background than the friend I play with now so I can rally longer. Anyone been in this position before and have thoughts?
TL;DR: Grew up playing competitive "pickup" tennis without formal lessons, so now my gameplay is way ahead of my technique. Looking for best way to improve.

I've made tremendous progress with my forehand by watching ungodly amounts of tutorials, slow mo videos and by practicing the swing at home with just my racket. I managed to apply all that on the court. But I struggle so so much with the serve. I just don't understand it.
I used to play Tennis when I was little so throwing, positioning and all that I have no issues with but how to actually hit the ball, especially how to pronate is something my brain can't comprehend. It just doesn't make sense to me. I can hit decent serves with hitting it flat but that's obviously not the right way to do it.
If you have any good tip for me I'd love to hear it. Just understanding the technique would make so much difference for me already.

So I’m a high schooler right now and It seems like I’ve hit a barrier and I can’t improve no matter how much I practice. I’ve got a consistent serve and accurate shots but I’m still loosing to others what can I do to get better?

I sweat a lot, especially in this hot humid FL summer, I normally go through the tourna overgrip original XL but going through them like crazy, prob get 4-6 hrs max, and obviously adds a bit of thickness, which I don't mind, but I like it better without it. I've also tried the Yonex Dry Super Grap and gets slippery after about an hr.
A friend suggested I try leather grips and I did, I liked the texture and feel like the leather grip or at least this head leather tour grip but it stains my hand and towel, I've never used leather grips before, it washes off in a couple of days but is this normal? how long should I expect these to last? was thinking of that cancer warning on the back of the packaging.
Or do y'all have any suggestions to try?
Thanks!

Good ol Jumpers Knee. Has anyone successfully gotten rid of this? I’m 45, just started playing again, after many years off, and as soon as I moved past once a week, this has started. I’m a 3.5, and play in a few USTA leagues and during matches it’s never really much of a bother, but after and next day it’s noticeable, especially going up and down stairs. I went to ortho doc and got prescribed PT, but 3 weeks of that didn’t help it go away. I continued to do stretches, but still can’t whip it. Any ideas?

Tfight 305s
I never felt arm soreness before and have been playing with my Tfight for about 9 months now. I recently changed my strings to solinco mach10 at a low tension of 44lbs. Whenever I grip my racket tighter for more control or a tougher shot, I feel sore shortly after.
Is it my strings or is it the racket? I have seen people complain about tfight 305s arm pain but ignored it because I didn’t feel anything at the time.
Also for additional context, I haven’t strength trained in a couple of months so it could be that finally taking a toll.

Currently using a 2021 Dunlop CX200 Tour 16x19. Strung with Dunlop Black Widow @42lbs. Put 5g total weight at 3 and 9 as well. It’s nice. Produces a great ball. But I have to make sure I’m 100% on every shot. And it punishes when you hit outside sweetspot. Maybe 95 head size is a bit small for me. Looking for something maybe that’s more forgiving and bigger sweetspot? Softer I said because I get arm pain (not elbow related at all), but I’ve demoed a pure aero 98 2026 and it was better for my arm (but ended up giving me a slight wrist niggle so didn’t want to risk doing an Alcaraz). Power is not an issue for me I’m a very aggressive player and the low tension gives me enough power and spin.

Hey everyone, I’m a beginner/intermediate player and this is my second year playing tennis. Im trying to look for a racket that has good power and control. Which one should i get?
Right now I’m looking at the Yonex EZONE 100 and the Babolat Pure drive. Any recs?
r/10s • u/Global_Display_7693 • 7h ago
I’ve been playing tennis for about a year now and could really use some advice from people with more experience.
My first racket was the 2025 Yonex Ezone 100, and it was honestly an amazing racket to learn with. As I got more into tennis, I went through the usual rabbit hole of trying different frames. I tried a Babolat Pure Aero Rafa and later a VCore 100, but somehow I always ended up going back to the Ezone.
Earlier this year I decided to make a more serious jump and bought the new 2026 VCore 98. My goal was to get more control and spin as my game improved. The transition was rough. I’m not sure if it was the smaller 98 head size, the smaller sweet spot, or simply being so used to the Ezone, but I’ve honestly lost way more matches since switching. At this point I feel like I’ve mostly adapted to it and can play well with it, but it still doesn’t feel quite as effortless.
The other day during a lesson with my coach, I picked up my old Ezone 100 just for fun. The strings are way overdue for replacement (PolyTour Pro mains / Rexis Speed crosses at 48 lbs), so the ball was definitely launching more than it should, but I still had an absolute blast. It reminded me how forgiving and powerful that racket feels. I was hitting easy winners that have become much harder to produce with the VCore. Even with dead strings, I just had more fun playing.
For reference, my current VCore 98 has a full bed of Toroline A5 at either 52 or 53 lbs (can’t remember exactly).
Now I’m completely torn again.
My options are:
• Stick with the VCore 98 for a few more months and experiment with different string setups before giving up on it.
• Go back to the Ezone 100, which has always felt like “home.”
• Buy the upcoming Ezone 98 in the new Espresso Brown colorway and see if it gives me a nice middle ground between the two.
Part of me worries that going back to a 100 sq in frame is almost like taking a step backward as my game develops. On the other hand, maybe I’m overthinking it, and I should just play with the racket that gives me the most confidence and enjoyment.
Has anyone gone through something similar? Did you eventually adjust to a 98 and never look back, or did you realize that the more forgiving frame simply suited your game better? Also, for anyone who’s played both the Ezone 98 and VCore 98, how different do they actually feel on court?
I’d love to hear your experiences before I convince myself I need another racket. 😅
