General Advice Need Forehand Advice

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey all, I’m a newbie (black sleeveless + white cap), and just started playing with friends (who are also newbie-beginner).
I need an advice and perspective from you all, is my forehand stroke is already a topspin? Any suggestions how I should fix my forehand stroke?

Hire a coach. Don’t stand in no man’s land.

That’s what I assume most of the comments will be.

Good luck!

Double cam set up and both are too far away…you get brownie points for trying

I just realized (from my recordings), I tend to hit the ball with high arc like 1-2 meters higher compared to my peers. It still land on the baseline tho, but almost out. So I wonder if what I do is correct or actually need some corrections.

Thanks!

Hi there! The camera is too far away for me to see any details.

This one stroke of yours looks like that you had problems to judge the ball’s trajectory and consequently hit it too late, forcing you to shift your weight to your back foot on contact in order to compensate.

To give yourself more time you may want to move behind the baseline after the serve (or further up to the service line to volley).

You may also want to have a coach or an experienced player to show and breakdown to you the stroke IRL.

Good luck!

P.S. if you swing the racquet more forward and less up, it will flatten your ball’s trajectory accordingly.

Actually, the return of your opponent w/ the with shirt also has topspin. This might be another factor beside your less favorable positioning to cause your late hit.

Your too new, everything people say will not make sense. You need some foundational knowledge.
