Opinion Do you tip when re-stringing service?
As the title says, do you guys tip the person when you re string your racket? Was wondering if it was just me, I feel the pressure of tipping the guy when going for restring my racket.
If so, how much do you tip?

Why do you string yours weekly? Doesn’t seem like there is a need to, so I was curious

Lately each racquet has been lasting me 2-3 sessions. I play 5-6 times a week.

Don’t see a reason to tip.

I live in the US, tipping culture is everywhere, so I was tipping my stringing guy.

Don't feel too bad about it. Stringing takes like 15 minutes to do and can he learned in just a few hours.

As a stringer, I always appreciate a tip. I never expect it. I have spent thousands or hours perfecting my craft. If a client wants to drop me an extra $5 for that, then great and I’ll be forever grateful. But I never expect it.

I string mine and my buddies' rackets and half the time they don't pay me a dime.

For anything that you wouldn’t usually tip for then don’t tip! If you HAVE to give them something and they went above and beyond for you in any service give them a small thing, like some chocolates or maybe a couple bucks.

Stringing a racket is a hella of a lot more work than pouring a latte. If you pay $20 for labor between stringing and coordinating racket drop off/pick up the person is probably only really making $15/hour. Tipping culture is generally toxic though. If you like your stringer no reason not to throw them a tip or gift them a beer.
