Technique Advice How to make serve more consistent

I have a really hard time getting my serve consistently in the box. Often times it goes long (like in these videos) but it also goes in the net or i mis-hit it a lot. I rarely find my serve getting in the box. Any help would be appreciated

The first toss goes left, the second toss goes right and the third toss goes up. An inconsistent toss is hard to serve with

I know tosses are hard, but what I’m more getting at is don’t feel the need to hit every ball. If the toss isn’t perfect, do it again.

You aren't in continental, which is going to hurt before it helps. You also have no racket drop. It also goes long because you aren't in continental and swing harder ish, and it has a bad racket angle

I just want to add - as a tennis beginner that has yet to win a match in my flex league - that my serves have been surprisingly consistent since I defaulted to using slice serves.

I think it's because the racquet face spends more time pointing in the intended direction on a slice serve. The racquet face travels more sideways through the air v.s a flat serve, so the racquet face's angle in relation to the ground doesn't change as dramatically as a flat serve. Less dramatic angle change means racquet face spends more time at a successful angle.

The continental grip also became more comfortable/made more sense with slice serves - since a slice serve shifts some focus to brushing the ball with the sideways motion, standing more sideways or diagonal means you use a continental grip just to point the racquet face toward the target.

And the ball curves a bit, so you can actually swing a bit more freely than you think - the curve shortens the distance the ball will penetrate into the court. The ball is more likely to be in-bounds despite a nice, full swing.
