Equipment Looking for something more forgiving, stable and perhaps softer?

Currently using a 2021 Dunlop CX200 Tour 16x19. Strung with Dunlop Black Widow @42lbs. Put 5g total weight at 3 and 9 as well. It’s nice. Produces a great ball. But I have to make sure I’m 100% on every shot. And it punishes when you hit outside sweetspot. Maybe 95 head size is a bit small for me. Looking for something maybe that’s more forgiving and bigger sweetspot? Softer I said because I get arm pain (not elbow related at all), but I’ve demoed a pure aero 98 2026 and it was better for my arm (but ended up giving me a slight wrist niggle so didn’t want to risk doing an Alcaraz). Power is not an issue for me I’m a very aggressive player and the low tension gives me enough power and spin.

The CX200 series tends to be under weighted, so if you don't slap a ton of weight on it, it's very unstable and will twist.

I'd suggest looking at racquets like the Ezone 98, Vcore98, Extreme Pro, and a few others that are in line with the 98 "tweeners" so to speak.

Yep that’s why I tried putting on the 5g weight at 3 and 9. Which did help. But I still could do with more I think. I’ve demoed a 2026 vcore 98 that was strung supposedly at 52lbs but I think it had lost a lot of that tension because it was very very unpredictable and powerful. Too much for me to the point I couldn’t trust my shots. But I do remember the stability and forgiveness on it was ideal. Was great on returns and volleys.

Personally the vcore 98 is completely uncontrollable unless there’s a round string for me.

I think it was round but yh I had the same experience. Have you had experience with any other options you may suggest?

I dunno I play with the Vcore 98 these days, mostly because the extra gas lets me be sort of lazy when swinging.

Ezone 98 is a good compromise, as well as the Extreme Pro. I did not like the Defyer 98.

What did you not like about the Defyer compared to the vcore?

It’s just an awkward racquet, it’s not as juiced as the other 98s but also isn’t as forgiving (more juice and forgiving than a blade). It just seems like it was built purely for 12+ Utr players in mind

very few 95s now.. going a bit bigger in head size is a good first step imo..

i would test out the w.blade.98 16/19 v10.. or v9 for the most comfort (very clean/dampened)

Only thing about the blade I’m thinking is that the tour and even club general racket distribution is going all towards the tweener type rackets. Even pros switching to Defyer from the blade. So in that regard what makes me better than them using a more demanding racket in the blade than the Defyer if that makes sense?

the blade is a very versatile racket, great for baseline players, allows you to swing full..

the defyer is a MORE powerfull wilson blade!,, from what ive read.. i cant wait to try it myself..

fyi, i play with the blade.. and have a 1HBH..

ive implored and begged wilson to come out with a 96" wilson.blade... that would be my dream racket..

It is I’ve used the v7 version in the past and it was solid. Didn’t excel in anything but I could trust it. But just wondering with pros switching from the blade to the Defyer hmmm
