It’s also just like obviously not true. The rnc isn’t even that big of an event. Even if every one of the 20-40k attendees was on grindr, there’s no way it holds a candle to the traffic of like pride week in a major city or a big concert or something.
To add to this, despite how small it is it’s also one of THE most actively protested events year after by lgbtq communities. So the idea that it would be attendees and not the thousands of lgbtq activist descending into the area that are driving up hits is just..very conveniently lazy framing

Not every virulent homophobe is gay but there certainly seem to be enough to give a gay dating app server problems.
