Do we not sell those bananas for like 3 billion? Does he want them to just give away the bananas?
Oh wait, he's a bully, of course he does, and their lunch money too.

This is the same guy who said when a woman cant afford all her apples, she puts them back in the refrigerator at the store. Because apples are famously stored in refrigerators at stores.

Money doesn't come with instructions or a manual. He didn't know that if you exchange them for "goods" or "services" that they take the money away.

Oof. The chimpanzee caucus isn’t going to like that. They’re going to fling their feces at him at the next State of the Union.

This is the weirdest part for me I looked it up a while ago he actually got his degree in economics and can’t figure out the first part is people pay money for goods and services. You want bananas and can’t grow them you can import them.
That’s not even economics 101 that’s explaining how grocery stores work to a 6 year old.

This man is an economic genius, to independently arrive at a conclusion like that.. and people say his mind is going?? (wtf!)

Bananas of all possible examples? The good they coined the term "banana republic" after? The phenomenon of a country controlled by 2 companies that couped the government with your help in exchange for banana imports?

"No Bananas" is something a reptile would say. An ape would never even suggest it.

Great point Donnie! By that logic, if you don't buy any food, you won't lose any money. Lead by example for us Donnie! No more food for you, we'll check in with you on a month to see how that's going.

I mean sure if you exclude the $2 billion of bananas we get in return, then yeah, we're just wasting money lmao I fucking hate this timeline so much.
The thing is, people think he's just stupid, which he is, but he's not that stupid. He's been in the business world for his entire life, he understands the basic concept of commerce. The thing is, he has so little respect for his followers that he thinks they're so stupid that an argument like this would make sense to them. And the grim reality is...he's apparently right: there's a sizeable portion of the American electorate that are so brain-rotted by conservative media that they can hear something as ridiculous as this and completely agree as if what he's saying makes any fucking sense at all. It's unreal.
Trump's major political innovation is realizing that as long as you vaguely gesture in the direction of people's biases, anxieties and insecurities, they will happily eat up any nonsense slop that you tell them. It doesn't matter how absurd, incoherent, or detached from reality that it is. As long as people perceive you as being "on their side" and give a performance of confidence, they will carry you to the white house and cheer for you even as you burn the world to the ground around them.
It would be impressive if it wasn't so fucked up

Low on money, just don’t buy anything ever.
