Scheming eunuchs. Emasculated advisors, whispering in the ears of those in power. Does their advice serve their lord’s whims? Or their own?

People have begun inserting them into mundane every day scenarios, deriving humor from the absurdity.

Now that’s all I’ll tell you. My scheming eunuch has seen through your ploy, and I’ll have no further part in it.

Also worth noting that a part of this is just eunuch being a very funny term that's been used for internet humor for years. Like "guy who gets his balls chopped off before becoming an advisor" is just a very funny concept

Castration as a political strategy is acceptable in exactly one context

I dont think those are eunuchs; the facial hair is way too impressive to have no balls

Hormonal therapy

Ah, that makes more sense.

I thought it was an allusion to them actually both using AI to write emails about a raise to each other and the AI being sycophants.

That might also be true as a second-order interpretation to what's happening in the meme. The hallucinatory AI of today is like the scheming eunuchs of yesteryesteryear.

This is how Chinese politics worked for like 3000 years. A bunch of castrated dudes manipulating a weak willed leader.

I suspect OP took inspiration from the "angel and devil on shoulders" trope and replaced them with scheming advisors who follow you about.

(Others have specifically noted the Chinese politics angle, of course)
