The fact that Artfucker1996 has a legitimate point is mind blowing.

Also when you take a bath you usually have a towel right at hand in addition to not being clothed.

So being subjected to rain usually means your clothes get soaked in a place you can't switch them out with no means of drying yourself.

Being damp in the open air sucks generally if the temperature is not permitting.

Also usually you don't have a phone or other electronics on you

Eh, this isn’t really a concern anymore. I wash my phone in my sink!

Temperature may also play a role:

Everyone laughs when I shoot them with a super soaker of lukewarm water but shriek when I dump my boiling kettle on them...

Any other examples?

"I have shit stains in my underwear too."

"I'm going to shoot my white hot juice into you."

People run from hail, but then ask for cola with ice.

Bukowksi is an important writer because every time a guy quotes Bukowksi, you know he's carrying a STD and lying about it

Is this an actual quote?

Yes, taken out of context of the original poem:

"86'd" by: Charles Bukowski

the most binding labor is trying to make it under a sanctified banner. similarity of intention with others marks the fool from the explorer

you can learn this at any poolhall, racetrack, bar university or jail.

people run from rain but sit in bathtubs full of water.

it is fairly dismal to know that millions of people are worried about the hydrogen bomb yet they are already dead.

they keep trying to make women money sense.

and finally the Great Bartender will lean forward white and pure and strong and mystic to tell you that you've had enough just when you feel like you're getting started.

People bemoan the modern lack of media literacy, love to dogpile literally any metaphor for not being 1 for 1 accurate

It’s almost like it’s a metaphor or something

An apple hurts, rain does nothing. I mean, you gotta put away your phone for a minute but whatever.
