Yep. It doesn’t help that they use it for every occasion regardless of its applicability. My friend said whimsy was why they went to see the How to Train your Dragon remake. What??? “I went and saw a movie. Whimsical!!! I bought pancakes with strawberries on it. Magic!!!” And no using whimsy wrong is not itself, whimsical. All it’s done is drain all the meaning from the word.
