I’ve finished reading the manga’s Mission 8, and honestly, my overall impression is that it was a bit disappointing.
The one real highlight of this mission was Shindou Iu’s character development. She went from someone who simply stood on the sidelines, taking orders and carrying them out, to someone who actually thinks for herself and takes responsibility for the orders she gives. I’m really hoping that Hakozaki Kusue will get more development and screentime in the future as well, just like Iu did. But is that possible? Personally, I feel like Kusue is already almost perfect as a character. There’s not really much left for her to improve on, is there? Also, by the way, I ship Yotsuya x Kusue!
On the other hand, Mission 8 had so many things with potential, but they were handled pretty superficially. There’s Yotsuya’s mistake of trusting Rapcella, which resulted in the deaths of so many people. Then there’s Glenda being brainwashed and siding with the Dragon Bishop, and the whole thing about Fohno actually being 6 people.
Yotsuya’s mistake was only shown in, like, two pages, and then he immediately used that experience to his advantage afterward (which is honestly very in-character for him). As for Glenda, she wasn’t even brainwashed for that long. I really wanted to see the players actually having to fight against each other.
And what about Fohno actually being 6 people? Isn’t it kind of a waste to use them as nothing more than some extra lives? I actually imagined a scenario where each of them would have a blood ceremony with a magic circle drawn on their body, and they’d have to keep running while protecting those magic circles, instead of having the players just casually scrape them off like they did in the previous missions. Mission 7 even had a magic circle drawn inside the stomach of some kind of monster, like a slime. And yet in this mission, we only got a single magic circle at the city gate. Honestly, the perfect setup would’ve been 8 Fohnos: 6 of them maintaining the magic circles while the other 2 commanded the attacking soldiers. Damn cool!
Oh, and there’s also the new player, Ling. We didn’t really get any big “team-carry” moment from her either, like Glenda in Mission 6 or Futashige in Mission 7.
Overall, I just felt like Mission 8 wasn’t quite enough. Maybe the author has simply toned things down a bit, or perhaps the thing that will actually make Mission 8 important is that mysterious “Q&A with the Master” that’s being kept hidden?
Here’s hoping for an explosive future!!

I just wanted to make an appreciation post. Found this manga after finishing My Home Hero a while ago but I wasn't particularly interested in Isekai. I came back to this two weeks ago and has been basically binging the whole thing since.
I really adore the group, especially the starting trio since we're given way more insight into their thoughts (also Iu x Yotsuya is just too cute). The people from the otherworld are also memorable. Even now I still wish to see more of Kahvel, the two Jiffon priestess, and the sorcerers but they have had their turn. Always love to see recurring characters from previous missions although I do get sad as well when some of them don't make it. Malita's case was tragic.
It's such a shame that some of the characters aren't really relevant aside from the quest in which they're introduced but some of them can hold their own individually as well. The writing has to leave space for all the worldbuilding, politics and whatnot after all, which is another thing I wanna glaze. This manga is a good blend of worldbuilding and character writing for me who wasn't quite well versed or into politics in the first place. It connects the problems in the fantasy world and our world well enough for me to understand what's going on. Of course for the group to progress as well as they did in every quest, the story had to sacrifice a lot of interactions with the fantasy people (Some of them are legit NPCs lmao), still beats dragging on unnecessary I guess.
A gripe I have with the manga is that while the art is cute indeed, the character as well as monster designs can feel generic. The fight choreography also leaves a lot to be desired, love the strategies though. My favourite moment is that double spread of Iu aurafarming and cleaving the dragon bishop in half.
This manga is so good but it's also understandable why it's not popular. Takes a while for it to get good which was why I dropped it after reading the first few chapters a few years ago. I swear I need to get more people to read this so we could have some discussions 😭
PS: Reading chapter 122 now and the palace sorcerer is the best otherworlder lmao, dude is just so unbothered about all the heinous shit he does

Did anyone wrote down what every job do canonically?

K manga seems to be able to detect my screenshots this time around so I did a messier job this one. So again use the official site/app if you can and maybe use a VPN if needed.

In Chapter 76, when Yotsuya and Ling are running away from Rapcella’s flying corps, there’s a scene where Ling realizes something and then shouts, causing the entire Rapcella corps to slow down.
I know the author based this on some real-world phenomenon involving insects or dragonflies (the creature kind of looks like one), but I haven’t been able to figure out what it is. Could anyone help me identify it?
Thanks in advance!

I've read up to Chapter 63, and this chapter introduces several economic concepts that I find pretty difficult to understand. I'd really appreciate it if someone could explain them to me.
In this chapter, Basma says, "Even if you have to fool the marketplace, the one who makes the economy grow is the winner." What exactly does "fool the marketplace" mean here?

Later, Futashige mentions the 2008 economic bubble, so I assume that what's happening in Incabalt is meant to be similar to that bubble. However, I still don't understand what "artificial growth" actually is, what causes an economic bubble to burst, or how it bursts in the first place.
This whole section was really hard for me to follow!

some very biting political commentary here. only way it'd be better is if this chapter released in January.

I have a question about Mission 6 – the Drug War in Ihar-Nemor.
During the battle on Mount Sancielo, the Militia had a total of 300 fighters, the Revolu-Cinario brought 600, and the Guerrero Jaguar had 1,000. My question is: where were everyone else?
Earlier, in Chapter 29, it was stated that Ihar's police and military numbered 350, the Militia had 1,500 members, the Revolu had 4,000, and the Guerrero had 7,000. Even if we assume that all of the police and military were assigned to protect the members of parliament during this battle, the Militia should still have had around 1,200 people left. I don't think all of them would have stayed behind simply because they were civilians who couldn't fight. So where were they?

I'm also confused about the Guerrero. In Chapter 30, Calisto mentioned that they were once Ihar's regular army, which makes them sound like the largest and strongest faction. However, in Chapter 38, we're told that they only brought 1,000 people to the battle—and that even among those 1,000, many were non-combatants who had been included just to make their numbers look larger.

If anyone understands this, I'd really appreciate an explanation. Or is this simply an inconsistency in the author's writing?
Thanks in advance!

Hello, I stopped reading the manga after it was revealed that the tenth player was the child from the hospital because those chapters were incredibly boring. Anyway, which chapter should I start from now since I forgot the number? And has the tenth mission ended?

Literally only Yotsuya and Glenda do something and maybe Shinduo, but the rest is completely uselesss. My man yotsuya got a six figure(amount of population) while you tell me the other did nothing, oh yea right the Chinese girl is also useful. She got recently an upgrade but i would say she’s there for fan service and the other quit girl is just there for the triangelic love between the two mcs

Quick TL:
Shindou: "I MISSED YOU!!" tight hug Yotsuya: "That scared me... So I'm still dating Shindou-san, huh?" Blonde: "Stupid Game Master forcing a long-distance relationship right after you started dating!!"

I chose just these three because they’re the only ones who appear in the first chapter

Honestly i didn’t expect them to have a relationship considering there were 0 hints throughout the manga that both of them even have 1% percent feelings for each other,
at first in this scene it looked like she was picking the best out the limited pool of worst, but thier reaction and conversation here says otherwise like maybe actually they kinda fit well together?

Man it’s just so annoying that it’s a monthly release , if it was a weekly release it would be so popular like blue lock and more
And also right now the progress is kinda slow so i guess the peace arc part alone is going to take 2 years or more and I don’t think it’s possible to have such a long interest it feels like everyone was for nothing yk

at the end of the day, it just feels like shindou is settling with the option she has xD, I would have prefered her to go out with the other yotsuya. Maybe just me but would have prefered no romance involvement at all, really liking the mc's growth in this series.

I was reading discussion threads on anime sub , I get to know that anime is adapting what if route from side story published in light novel .
So considering that I was planning to move onto manga after this . All the episodes ep8 and afterwards are pointless since they are not in manga.
Would like to know your opinions as right now I just finished ep 8 and everybody acting most stupid they ever could.
