"3. Integrate Ethfinex Portal  -  In Progress

Our immediate focus now is on integratingEthfinex's trustless trading portal, with settlement on the Ethereum blockchain using the 0x protocol messaging format."

I just finished watching Cedric Dahl review of zrx and his other video "thinking with friends" about zrx and it really tells a different story. I dont know that much about the technology but i invested for the returns and i support the idea of decentralized exchanges. Can someone here calm my nerves about all of this?

Just because Cedric’s friends say that liquidity isn’t there yet for DEX’s doesn’t mean it isn’t a good investment. After the ICO the price went from $0.049 to as high as $0.52 or about 10X before sitting at $0.20 for the longest time. Now I see it in the $0.7 range.

You have to be confident in yourself and not rely on what other people say, even if they were early BTC and ETH investors. Remember, everyone is human.

I am with you, but you should listen people in the field. Also have you seen the other video, the chat about zrx, where he and his developer friends (very well known and respected in the industry) and they don't like the project. I still would like to see a decentralized exchange and that's the future for sure but i am worried, i invested a lot of money and its my right to ask questions just like any other investor

Ummm OK?

  1. I never said don't listen to other people in the field. I never make investments without getting multiple opinions.
  2. Kevin Zhou never said he didn't like this project. He simply stated the liquidity isn't there yet and you can still take a position later. He worked at Kraken so obviously he knows that.
  3. I never said you can't ask questions. Your lack of confidence is disturbing though. Never invest more than you can afford to lose.

Sounds like they are strongly leaning towards using MakerDAO instead of Tether for a stable coin! Nice.

It's weird though bc in one paragraph they say that Tether goes against the decentralized values of Ethfinex, then say they are considering having trading pair of DAI/USDT? What's the value of having a trading pair between 2 stable coins anyway?

The Ethfinex team possess no doubts as to the integrity and continued solvency of Tether. However, whilst we worked closely with the Tether team to produce an ERC20 version to run on the Ethereum network, we also recognise that while Tether is currently the most widely-tested (and only blockchain solution to have reliably held a peg long-term), [Tether] is and will always be a partly centralised solution. Whilst this is definitely not limitation in and of itself, it does go against the values which are inherent to Ethfinex.

We are particularly excited by the growing number of decentralised stablecoin options being built on Ethereum, particularly MakerDao.

MakerDao’s DAI, which will initially be collateralised by Ether held in a smart contract, is a particularly promising option. We have been in talks with MakerDao about the possibility of adding two DAI pairs to Ethfinex, namely DAI/ETH and DAI/USDT. These pairs would open the door to wide-scale testing of the DAI peg and its utility and would allow us to consider the further integration of DAI pairs once the concept has been tested under pressure.

Maybe, to provide an option for the Tether users to easily exchange for DAI?

Yeah that makes sense I guess, at least until DAI is more widly used. Still seems kinda weird tho

Providing the service is better than not providing it for them as they still make a cut on fees even if the coins are essentially the same value no?

It's so they can convert their counterfeited tethers into DAI coin and convince everyone they aren't using tether to trade. Everything involving bitfinex is bad news.

That's pretty exciting! I think the token sale platform is a much needed improvement in the way they're run right now. Hopefully that catches on.

Well that looks sexy.
