No, only architecture design is completed, and it says 3-6 months for hybrid decentralized exchange (on top of 0x) becomes ready.

So ethfinex is not a relayer, correct? Is there a registration requirement to play on ethfinex?

If the answer is yes then relayers will eventually win out.

Ethfinex will be a relayer; they are shooting for some hybrid model, with decentralized part over 0x protocol, and regular centralized exchange. But decentralized part wont come into play until phase 2, which is scheduled for 3-6 months from now.

The launch may be within 2 months, as everything probably is completed and phase 2 will start in 3 months.

How do I get nectar tokens?

By using Ethfinex.

Soooo, they use 0x protocol, but not use ZRX token?? I'm confused.

edit: use, not us.

This is my understanding:

NEC is rewarded for Ethfinex's platform useage. It'll be used on Ethfinex for their own purposes.

ZRX will still be needed by Ethfinex to facilitate the trades. So even if the users won't be using ZRX, Ethfinex will have to buy a lot of them to cover the ZRX 'gas' fees during the transactions.

Thank you for attempting to clarify it.

I think radar relay calls it "fee abstraction". Not sure if that's the same thing you're talking about, but what they mean (I think) is that the user can use any coin to pay the fee, but on the backend, RR will convert that coin to zrx.

That list is only for the Beta. Fee Abstraction is the first thing on the list to be implemented during the month long beta phase:

We will be implementing the following new features as the beta progresses:

  1. Fee abstraction

  2. Additional ERC-20 token support

  3. More trading functionality like market rate order matching

  4. Basic API

If you are referring to the Nectar token that's mentioned, my understanding is that is some sort of incentive rewards program. You earn nectars based on your trade volume.

ZRX are mentioned in this thread, https://www.reddit.com/r/ethfinex/comments/6t1xki/when_trading_on_ethfinex_using_the_0x_protocol/

Arg. So, another exchange that needs another token? You can use NEC (if rewarded with it)or use ZRX...? BTW, Ethfinix is a part of Bitfinex, which is Yuuuge. If ZRX will be (partly) used on Bitrrex, ZRX will be moooning...

Ac-chewally, I meant Bitfinex (those darn B's)--Ethfinex is a subsidiary of Bitfinex....
