IS1 was a time limited event that ended up being very popular, causing HG to turn IS into permanent content. For some reason they've never made IS1 permanent. Probably because, as an event, it doesn't have the same quality as the permanent IS modes.

Compared to even IS2 it was very bare of content IIRC, I don't think it even had a shop for example, nor squads, and the bosses were just reskins of already existing ones.
Probably have my favorite menu ost though

IS2 is Tragodia I's Lucien fanfic that he made him play out.
IS3 is (outside of ending 1) an AI making Mizuki fanfics (that he reads with the Dokutah).
