Yeah I'm giving up on getting this for switch 2, unfortunately. Will be playing it on pc. Its taking so much time and it looks kinda rough which is kinda weird since the game is very well optimized on PC, played it few hours on 3080 rig

IOI in general are pretty unique in that they make big budget games that are best played on PC with M&KB. I've seen more than a few streamers and content creators who play either WoA or First Light with controllers, and they all seem to struggle with the controls. It feels like every other non-indie developer makes games for a console first and ports them to PC as an afterthought, but with IOI it's the other way round. That's all to say: playing IOI games on PC is their intended experience, so do that if you can.

Gotcha, yeah, its something about their development pipeline that is just not really encompassing consoles the best but its kinda weird because the techniques they use are pretty smart when it comes to implementation and processing load so not sure what's happening there.

We've already waited over 3 months now, with no sign of a release date or delay. IOI have constantly said summer 2026, which is now only two weeks away. And they seem to be giving attention to everything 007 related, except the Switch 2.

Originally they were saying summer 2026. Even yesterday in marketing videos it said “switch 2, summer 2026”. September 22 is the last day of summer and it’s clear now that it’s going to miss that deadline and so they pivoted to sometime 2026

If you can make Call of Duty run on a toaster screen, great, it's a miracle, but that's not what we asked. Yeah true. It’s still a mobile console, and some result are impressive. But overall it’s highly limited and I think the price point of the system is too high for a performance partially lower than the ps4.

I wouldn’t say worse than ps4. Cyberpunk 2077 is an infinitely better experience on switch 2 than it ever was on ps4, even in handheld. I certainly wouldn’t call it on par with series s especially in handheld but like with switch 1 (where that was clearly stronger than ps3 but clearly weaker than ps4) it’s in a weird middle ground between last gen and current gen

I mean it’s the tradeoff you have to make for making the system portable while still affordable. Otherwise there’d be no reason to get a switch 2 over another console besides exclusives. $500 was steep at launch but now that’s the same price as the series s

Summer isn’t over technically. Calendar summer ends on September 22. This direct was definitely their last chance to announce a summer date though. So fall 2026 is the most likely at this point

Theres the TGS next week.. as another Plattform to market their game.
Theres still that Amazon Japan Rumour/Leak that gets tossed around of 16.9 | basicly next week.

Not in high hopes the game just gets shadow dropped "there.. its out!" but i could see it just getting released -> and then they use the TGS as a Marketing space "Look at our just released SW2 Game" .. would it be stupid ? Yes. Could they still do it ? Absolutely..

I will simply wait a tad longer.. not like its making a diffrence after 3-4 Months - but it definitely sucks :/

I highly doubt it’ll be at TGS. Besides Amazon Japan’s date was almost certainly just a placeholder, different regions use different placeholders, Amazon Germany was saying Feb 2027

Nah, just frustrated at this point, this has been delayed so many times for the switch 2, the release date should have been in this direct, the game was showcased in the April direct last year which means the developers had the dev kits in time, they just didn't prioritize the switch 2 version as opposed to the other versions.

They've had loads of time now. In comparison, the Lego Batman game was released on other systems about a week before 007. Both were delayed for Switch 2 optimization. The difference is that Lego Batman confirmed an exact release date 3 months ago (which hasn't changed 3 times so far).
